Hey - has anyone else found with their 2nd (or more) pregnancy they had/have a REALLY big belly? I'm about the size I was full term with Jake (less than a cm smaller) and have over 10 weeks to go! I'm so sick of all the shocked looks and comments when people ask me how long I have to go ... and comparisons to friends/workmates who are alot smaller bellied. OK, its no 2, and I'm short/petite ..... but I'm seriously concerned about how much bigger it can get?!

Please someone tell me it will slow down (I have been waiting for this the whole pregnancy, so am losing hope that it will!)??? I've put on the same amount of weight as I had at this stage with Jake (so its not extra fat) - but my belly is so much bigger. It is looking like a big baby (measuring 4 weeks ahead) and Jake was just above avg ... but still. I'm already sore in the pelvis and down thru my legs from her sitting low, and my lungs are crushed if I try to bend down (so the only room left is outwards) ..... and I'm about to enter the "big growth" stage .....

I'm really just after sympathy / understanding from others who have been thru this I guess, haha.

I have full sympathy for you!! because i was HEAPS bigger with my second (even though i put on the same ammount of weight!!)...

This is my third pregnancy and luckily im not even bigger still!! im actually smaller than i was the first time even!!

My second boy definately ended up being the biggest of my boys though!! so maybe your bubs is just going to be a bit hefttier than your first?? if it means anything - my second birth with bigger baby was heaps easier than the first

Glad I'm not the only one!

Maybe you're having a nice small girl this time??

Cos I had an emergency c section first time, and I'm little, if shes looking too big it will be another c section for me. Will have to wait for a scan a little later on.

PS - I have a friend whos boys are called Bailey and Astin!

I think I am about the size I was with McKayla but I also think the bump will slightly change and not really get bigger. You get bigger faster apparently second time around and then slow down where others will still grow. I really hope so otherwise I think I will really be a hippo soon.

Aww you poor thing Nikki
I was much, much smaller with Kalz, he was my runt. Brae was 9.6lbs tho so I can relate somewhat on being a small/short person & having a large baby growing inside

You have my total sympathy Nikki
I was waaaay bigger with Lucas!
I had a big tum all thru my pregnancy with him and he always measured on the bigger side. He was born 9lb.

I'm also a smaller person.

Good Luck Nikki, you'll be fine

Well we can be hippo sisters then. Best is the whole time I was telling Grant I am so much smaller with Andrew than I was with McKayla. I think he heard it and is in competition now. This last like 3 to 4 weeks he is just taking totally over.

I was much larger with number two than I was with one or three. But (as the midwife gently reminded me today with a smile on her face) I'm a lot older now and my muscles aren't in practice holding this lump in - baby four is about the same as two. Eep. He was 9lb9oz as it was!

Best wishes Nikki - I'm sure you'll be fine.

I thought I was big with number 1, she was 8lb 9

Second time around I popped out almost imediately and began freaking out at 30 weeks because I was huge! Those last 10 weeks I somehow managed to get bigger but it wasnt the same as the the last 10 weeks with the first one.  By 40 weeks i was big but I wouldn't have thought huge.

I am a tiny person aswell and I guess theres no where for baby to go but out. And Maddi was 9lb6oz.

I was much bigger with Kyle. At around 28 weeks I looked the same as at 38 weeks with Spencer (when I compared my belly pics) with Spencer i was able to wear my low rise jeans all throughout the pregnancy but couldn't with Kyle. Spencer was 6lb 2 and Kyle was 7lb 13, so I guess that would be why
