looks like a good deal to me! One thing I never looked into with Alex was the whole carseat in pram thing and looking back if I had got one I would have used it all the time.

The only thing I would say is that if you are planning on having another, I would look for one that you can add a toddler seat to at a later stage.
We NEVER thought of that when we bought our first pram, and then ended up having to sell it to get another for the arrival of number two.
Also ...
Quite a lot of Mums prefer a capsule that has a base attachment. It means the base stays in the car and the capsule clicks in and out (so you dont have to strap it in each time), so you might want to consider that point too.
Lots of prams have attachments that you can put the capsule on the actual pram (Phil and Teds do for example) .. or you could just get some snap and go wheels .. which are far lighter than trying to cart a full sized pram around with you.
And finally .. (man I can rave on)
I would go down to the baby factory and check to see the pram fits in your boot! And that it can be collapsed easily.

Yeah, you really need to go into a shop and test drive a few to see how you like them.
The most popular brands are Mountain Buggies and Phil & Teds so make sure you compare any pram you're looking at to these ones.

Definitely go and try it out. I tried that pram and didnt like it, found it to heavy and also did not fit in my car boot.
I ended up with a Mountain Buggy with no regrets at all. Oh and like mentioned above, the capsule that clicks into the base is great. I hired one for 6 months for $60.

Well DP's mum just told me shes gunna make DPs dad go halves with her, and to make sure i pick whatever pram is going to be the best! Cant complain about that lol!! So any ideas on what i should go for? We may look at a second in a couple of years so something that can have a toddler seat would be good. Dont wanna go too overboard coz i know DP's ma will be buying lots of stuff coz she cant help herself.

Do both come with the toddler seat option? Which P&T do you have/recommend?

Hi,
Definately look at a pram that the capsule can click into - great as you don't have to wake bubs up. Also when looking we brought a brand that can fit a toddler seat onto as well. Definately have a good go at collapsing the pram - 1st time out I just about threw the thing over the side of the carpark building as I couldn't get it down! Also try it in your boot as they can be quite bulky and hard to lift. I am just about to go back to the full size pram after using a Snap and Go - these I can't say enough about they are AWESOME (again no waking bubs) and so light and easy to get in and out of the car and I have hired mine from Baby on the Move for six months for a total of $60. I wish I had consulted with Baby on the Move for my capsule and pram instead of just going to Baby City and purchasing without knowing what I really needed - I'll definately be using to purchase my car seat! And the snap base in the car is so much easier and safer too.

The MB dont do a toddler seat .. they have a kiddie board (kind of like a skateboard that you attach at the back)
P&T have a toddler seat.
I personally have a Vibe and we find it great (and I think its pretty lol)

Thanks LF and Hannibil! Is there any of the P&Ts you should avoid? I heard something about a bad brake on one of them??

Im not sure about "bad" the sport brake is "sticky" apparently (its a foot brake)
The dash has a brake on the handle but you need two hands to work it (which IMO is a PITA). The Vibe brake is on the centre of the handlebar .. which needs only one hand, but my DH says its in a stupid place if you want to run as he likes to run pushing the pram with one hand (and the brake is where that one hand would naturally go)

No worries .. you can go down to baby city or another stockist near you and play with all of them .. you will soon figure out which one you prefer.

The older versions of P&T had the sticky brake. That was the deciding factor for us not getting one (everything else was good) as I bruised my foot trying to put it on and then take it off again - and I was wearing shoes.
But yeah, I think they've changed it now like LF said.
We had a strap in capsule and it wasn't too hard once you got the hang of it. Your absolute best option is to find a capsule that goes in a base but can also be strapped in. Then you can have it in your car and also take it in other people's cars too. There are some around but sorry I don't know the brands.

we have just sold a sports and bought a dash. Our sports had a VERY sticky brake and was painful on the foot to put on and off!! i not sure if its been fixed bcos the ones i have tried in the shops recently are still quite sticky!!.
The dash had a problem with the brake but has been resolved in the newer prams, i was told that the old "faulty" (but not always!) ones have grey brake buttons and the newer ones have red brake buttons.
The 2 handed brake thing doesnt bother me but i can def understand how it might for some people.
I had a pram for Bay that had a brake button in the middle of the handle and it was a PITA to drive one handed as Lilfatty said...not that i was running with it tho! lol but walking and holding something in other hand!
the vibe does have alot of extras that the other P&Ts dont have.
