Addison has fallen in love with our friends Baby Alive and with her birthday in a couple of months she said she wants a baby. She doesnt know it eats and all that, just likes the fact that it talks i think so my question is should I go out and spend $80 on a baby alive which she will probably want in a few years time anyway or do I just get a cheap baby that says a couple of things like mum dad etc... or something like a talking dora. Are the baby alives really that good? It doesnt seem very cuddley and to be honest the moving mouth creeps me out but she did love it......

We have been wondering if we shounld spend that much on one for Isla too- were looking at the toilet training one but its $100- there is another band at warehouse -baby born
i think it is, they seem to have sets that contain very similar stuff, and also sell seperate clothes, nappies etc but for cheaper. I would like to know if others think the baby alive dolls are worth the cost too.

Sienna has one that her grandparents got her for xmas, I hate it, I think it was a waste of money, it keeps saying it wants to be fed so then Sienna wants to feed it which itsn't cheap, when it poos its just gross and it goes through heaps of batteries.

I started a thread on the same thing the Xmas before last coz Maya wanted one - I ended up buying it and I agree with Floss, it was a waste of money. She was bored with it within a month or so, and the green baby food it comes with stained it's face.

We got Keira one which just did no1's and you only had to feed it water. She still uses it occasionly but I think there is definately a lot of hype from the adds. That song is just so catchy......
