Topic: How many Early Arrivals and LATE? Posted: 29 May 2006 at 4:53pm |
With Paige I was just under three weeks early and the midwife said it is highly likely that this could happen again?Which means I might still be at work. EEEK!
Were you early or late? And do you kow any others with first or second babies that were early or late????
Whats the general consensus these days?

With Kiya I was probably 2 weeks early (we had no idea when she was due) based on her appearance at birth.
Josiah was born bang on his due date.
I'm not sure what to expect this time!

Ella was born right on her due date, I'm hoping this one will too, as my overly-helpful in-laws are going to be away that week, hehehe!

Sean was three days early and Andrew was three days late - so I have no idea what to expect with this one, however my GP has said that there is a reasonable chance that they will induce.

Well I was induced with Alex at 7 days overdue & had him on the 8th day overdue. This one looks like it will be similar.
I've been told that if you have a "pre-term" baby it's very likely you will do it again. My sister-in-law had her girl nearly 4 weeks early & she had to call her work up to say she couldn't come in because of Bubs arriving 3 days before she was supposed to finish up. Her midwife told her next time to finish up work abit earlier because it is likely she will have another early bird. Apparently her mum was the same too with having early babies.

I had Kobe 6 weeks early for no apparent reason, possibly GD but they said that shouldnt have caused a prem birth. This time round who knows but Im feeling very similar and either way if I dont go early then they are going to look at induction around 38 weeks cos of the GD. My sister had 2 babes on time and her 3rd 8 weeks early for no reason and a lady I worked with had her first 4 weeks early then just had her second 2 days before due date. She said it was horrible cos she kept expecting to go early again and the last month was soooo long.

My first I went into labour on his due date, he wasn't born till two days later though. My second she was 5 days over due. So sure this one will be around about on time or late - I don't expect to go early anyhow only finishing work two weeks before due date.

I had my boys 9 weeks early and suspect that should i have anymore could have another prem birth. Was quite common in the mums i meet at neonats. A few of them had more then one prem bub.
I too had to ring my boss and tell him i wasnt coming to work that day - rang him at 8am and told him the big news. I think i had another 4weeks of work to go!!

Zaara was born on her due date. However one of the nurses saw Zaara and told me that she was overcooked by at least 1 week. Too bad...according to my scans she was right on time.

I had to avoid birthdays with Andrew - my Dad's b'day is the 19th, MIL's bday the 21st, Andrew's due date was the 24th and he finally made it out on the 27th - not until after I had two days of crossing my legs though.

Maya was 9 days early. The twins will be induced/delivered by caesar between 36-38 weeks (unless they decide to come earlier) depending on how big they are and how they are presenting.
The Ob says it is a good thing that Maya was a decent size (9lb) as it means that the twins have a good amount of growing space.

I was 9 days overdue with Maddisyn and my midwife told me that it would be likely I would be overdue again, but we can only wait and see right?
My sister in law was 4 days overdue with her first and then 10 days overdue with her 2nd!
So WHO KNOWS... babies just come when they're ready by the sounds of things?
