Topic: midwife in hutt city Posted: 29 June 2009 at 5:40pm |
hi all, i desprately need help finding a new midwife. im not sure where i went wrong, but basically i posted in a different forum a while back about being unsure about my current mw, even tho i thought and said at the time how i thought she was a lovely person, i had since then resolved my concerns, and decided to stay with her and leave it at that. she then turned up with the whole thing printed out, and we have had a falling out. is she allowed to have done this? if it was an issue should she have not let me discuss it with her, and i have i not a right to seek advice? i have not got friends down here hence why i went on the forum. obviously hormones playing a part, i am feeling rather emotional and hurt, also a bit angry and betrayed, and im not sure if she has ditched me or whats happening, but all i know is i dont want her anymore. (no friends as we recently moved from another city) but now i feel a bit scared to find another midwife...what do i do? please no nasty comments im feeling very sensitive atm (dd 12/10/2009) any advice or midwifes rec pls? ( i didnt even say anything horrible about her and kept it factual which i pointed out btw)

Strega first of all big hugs hun... Sorry noone replied to you straight away it takes a wee while on these forums to get replies, especially if you are looking for replys from a certain place. I have to say unfortunately I think you are going to struggle to find a new midwife at this stage in your pregnancy, there is such a shortage in the region for midwifes that its sometimes even hard to find a midwife at 6 weeks or so. I think your best bet is going to be trying the Hutt Hospital midwife team, I haven't met my midwife yet and am worried we may not click so that will be my backup plan.
Also feel free to drop into the due in threads and also there are a couple of threads in the Mums Meet up section for meetups in the Hutt and Wellington, i'm sure you will find some great support in these threads.
Good luck hun

Sorry to hear of your midwife problems
I could recommend Jacinta Walkey.
Best of luck!

Didn't want to read and run
Just wanted to send a HUG - I have no experience on LMC in Wellington - but people do seem to be quite positive about the hospital midwifes, so they might be your best bet.
Don't feel bad about seeking advise online - we all do that nowdays and if your previous MW had a problem with that, maybe its for the best that you are changing (ok a stressful kinda way to go about it)
