Megan will say "wees" and "toilet" so I ask her if she wants to go to the toilet and off she will go to the toilet.i stil have to help her up but almost soon as she is on the toilet she wants to get off yet if I try and put her nappy back on she gets upset ..i wouldn't mind if she actually sat there happy for a couple of minutes..bonus if she did something.

just get a bit tiring having her want to go to the toilet every 5minutes but not actually wanting to sit there and then getting upset if I put her nappy back on
.
she did this a couple of months ago so left it and just recently she started asking to go again.

please tell me this is normal

at 21 months she maybe a little young to get the whole connection to wees and poos from brian to gentals - but knows thats what you do there. Give it a few more months and introduce it again.

Our boy is the same and he makes himself fart when he goes on the toilet - cause he knows you do poos on there - But I know hes not totally ready so am leaving it for another couple of weeks and try again - he is 2 and half though.

We Leah first started (and we are by means finished!) we had the potty in the lounge so she could go by herself but we all didn't need to go to the bathroom...that seemed to help and she would just sit on it whenever she wanted and if she wee'd great!

yeah I would suggest just getting a potty as well and leaving it in the living room. She is still quite young to TT. Ella was really keen to sit on the toilet earlier in the year, then went off it for a while....so we just left it for a while, but kept on talking to her about how great it was sitting on the potty and how only special big girls did that. Now she has just started doing a wee on the potty just before bedtime, but it was at her suggestion not ours.

I agree with Chickaboo that she may be a bit young to make the connection and is just mimicking? I would also tend to wait until the weather is better - summer ideally when you can leave her running about in knickers and accidents aren't as big a problem.

Would a potty and pull ups help her to have control and relieve you of the burden of helping her every 5 minutes? Is she too young for a sticker chart?

I disagree about being too young, Charlotte started TTing by the time she was 18 months old and she instigated it not us - it took only a few weeks for her to be dry during the day. We did it during summer and like others, we put a potty in the lounge and left her too it. Yes, there were quite a few accidents but it didn't worry me too much and because it was summer, a lot of them were outside...even better...

Also, is she in pull ups or nappies? We did buy pull ups for when we went out but Charlotte did live in undies at home.

she's in nappies....would prefer not to use pull ups due to the cost..been looking on TM for some training undies.

she asked again go to to the toilet but of course did nothing and her nappy was bone dry ...she has been in her nappy for at least 3 hours.

You can get pull up nappies from Woolworths, I think they are the signature range, and they aren't that much more than regular nappies, about $7 a packet from memory. I avoided the Huggies ones cause they are sooooo stupidly overpriced!
