hi all...
Im just wondering if any of you can tell me when it is best to get the "20 week" scan. I remember the scan lady told me it was best to come in earlier/later.....I can remember as my memory is like a sieve at the moment!
Does anyone know? There was a reason for coming in earlier/later, but I cant remember that either
The place I get them done like it closer to 20 weeks but anywhere between 18-20 is fine. If I ever got preggers again I'd get it closer to 18 though just because of if there is something wrong theres a whole lot more crap you have to go through if you are beyond 20 weeks
they say to wait til later so u can get a better look, the heart is easier to see proberbly at 19wks+.
im impatient and having mine at 17wks 4days coz to wait til 18wks means another week to wait, i found it hard enough just getting to this point. and i had a scan only 3wks ago. I love scans plus I soo want to know what my baby is.
ill proberbly end up having to go make in a few weeks but oh well i had to with my last baby as well and i did wait til i was 18wks+

Burger buns that is hilarious My MW wanted for me to have had my scan before my next appointment with her so have booked in for scan when I am 19 & half weeks. I have heard between 18 & 20 weeks is best.
I had my first scan with jake at 19weeks and some days (sorry cant remember right now) and we had to go back as bubs was a bit small and they couldnt see the heart chambers clearly.
It depends on a lot of things really, they way baby is lying and where the placenta is and how much weight you are carrying.
Next time I will probably still go about 19 weeks, if they have to rescan cos they cant see everything then its free and I get to see bubs again
When I rang the scan place they recommended 19 weeks so we are going at 19w2d.
My sister lives in Europe and is going to Milan shopping this weekend so really wanted to know the sex, but the scan place was fully booked tomorrow so it'll have to be a unisex baby!
well i just learnt the guy at botany horizon wont do anatomy scans earlier than 18wks.
doesnt bother me i still got to find out what our wee one is coz he was still nice enough to check anyway.

I had mine at 21 weeks and it was fine, although I am measuring big for my dates so the baby was more like 23 weeks and a bit big to get some of the measurements!
