My mum turns 50 in like 10 days or so and we are meant to be going out to lunch next weekend so I wanna get her something but buggered if I can think what.. I don't really wanna spend more than about $50 cause we have rates to pay too.

My mum is a very outdoorsy type if that helps, shes not really into really girly type things and getting her smelly type things would be a waste of money lol

The Rose sounds like a good idea - maybe put it in a nice pot or something so she can take it with her if she moves.

I was given a baby oak tree once. I thought it was an awesome gift.

I might do the rose thing. No need to worry about her moving they will be in their place for the next 20 years more than likely lol

I second the rose idea there are lots of lovely roses out there. Now its just to decide what she would like. David austin roses are very pretty and many of them have a lovely fragrance. Camillias are a good idea too.

The rose idea sounds great, or maybe a native tree/plant if she would like that sort of thing? I got my Dad a baby pohutakawa tree for Christmas the year they moved into their new house.
