Hi ladies, I am having terrible difficulty deciding what to get David for his birthday in October! We have a fair few smallish toys because of his big brother but really unsure what to get him.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. We already have about 3 ride on bikes.

Rowan got this from my IL's and she 's it.
It gets played with all the time and all the CG babies play with it too. And the big brothers and sisters play with it as well so I'd say it will hold its value for years yet.

You can get it at K-mart which is probably cheaper than the site I linked to.

The best thing is that they can still play with it in 'off' mode so you don't have to listen to the song all the time.

Wheels on the bus is Jayes favourite toy to play with at his Nans house!!
We will probably get Jaye some books for his first birthday. DF also wants to get him a truck or something like that because he loves anything with wheels at the moment. Will also get him some new clothes as the rest of the family are almost certain to get him toys!
His Nan wants to get him some musical instruments

Oh dear, we have that wheels on the bus toy (xmas present from grandma) and it drives me crazy! The demo mode on it is good though (so it doesn't play the entire song!).

For something different, how about a goldfish in a small bowl? They are pretty low maintenance and toddlers love fish.

Hayden's favourite toys from his birthday a few weeks back were...

plastic golf set - cheap and loads of fun
soft Thomas the Tank Engine toy that vibrates and sings the theme song
plastic cooking pot with 5 vegies that are halved and held together with velcro, so he can pull them apart and mix n match them, it also has spoon/knife/can opener/tub of something
Smart Trike - has safely features/parent guide thingy that you can take off when the are old enough to peddle themselves
Wooden blocks / puzzles

It sounds silly, but Chiara's absolute favourite present that she got for her birthday is a mini magna doodle/drawing board thing, she is absolutely obsessed with it and drags it round the house with her, and coz it's little, it's easy for her to handle.

Not a boy gift but for those of you who have little girls have you considered strating a pandora braclet or simialr and then giving it to her when she is older say at her 16th birthday. It could be quite a special gift.

Anything that mimicks real life experiences such as a play kitchen, vacumn cleaner, pram & doll, lawnmower.

Mini tramp, sandpit (clam shell or old tyre with sand), play house, trike or ride on toy or wooden trolley.

Balls, all kinds of sizes, a hoop.

A outdoor tunnel or tent, could also get some small plastic balls. Sleeping bag such as bob the builder. Outdoor playhouse.

Garage with cars, train track, collection of duplo or wooden blocks.

Musical instruments, shakers, small drum, scarves.

Puzzles, books or music cd/dvd.

Trademe is great would recommend checking it out :)

Do you have a bead frame?

With DS1 we got him a activity table, bead frame(a big one) this toy has been played with by all 3 boys & still is, 8yrs later.

DS2, was a ride on & push toys.

DS3 got a Playskool tent, very cool.

It is easy with your first but when you get to your 3rd you really have to think, still do,lol.

We too have that bus, the kids love it,
