Hi, yep I used one, he wore it pretty much constantly until he started to roll at 9ish weeks then I started just putting it on him for sleeps. Once he moved into his cot at about 3.5 months then I didn't really use it as we have an angelcare monitor. I would put it on him though when bringing him into bed with me. I had still been using it when bringing him to bed with me until last week when I accidentally put the monitor through the wash and broke it.
I always made sure he had it on when in the front pack as well.
I haven't used ours yet, but my brother and SIL used one for both their babies and said they were great! You just need to make sure you put it on the tightest bit of the nappy so its closely touching the skin otherwise it goes off when there is no emergency.
They reccomended using this and then an avent monitor (one of the new ones) rather than the Angelcare monitors - this is purely becuase they found the angelcare monitor gave lots of static and feedback (may have just been their house but we have gone for the same structure)
Bought one and it is great. Andrew has choked on day two to the point that Grant had to help him get mucous out of his mouth and nose. It happened to me when I was feeding him that night as well.
We bought it when I was pregnant with him and just waited for the cord to fall off. And it actually went off and saved his life. He was slightly blue in the face and struggling to breath. So definately worthwhile getting it.
Some people say it gives false alarms but that is usually when you didnt put it on correctly or it came lose ect. Plus in a car or a buggy it sometimes wont go off due to movement ect so you cant just rely on it as such so check now and then ect. But I really love it.
I used them with all three of my youngest, with the gremlins 24-7 till about 3 mths then just for sleeps till about 10 mths and with lil miss till she was 4 mths and transitioned out of the hammock and into the cot (we have an Angelcare on the cot).
I can't recommend them highly enough, Mercedes had two apnoeas as a newborn and on one occasion the Repsisense probably saved her life.

Yeah I would rather a few false alarms and the piece of mind it gives.
We had it go off a couple of times when he was really little and he hadn't gone blue or anything but he was in such a deep sleep that I do wonder if he had stopped breathing.
Our angelcare does pick a lot of static up. Doesn't cause it to give false alarms or not alarm but just very loud static so is quite annoying to have in our room at night. I bought ours second hand though so I dunno if that is why it is not too great.
I think there is a link to retailers from the respisense website (I bought mine second hand off another lady on here).
The alarm isn't that loud so if you have baby in another room I would use a sound monitor as well.
Yes Kyle has dislodged his sometimes causing false alarms, like it would be floating around in the leg of his sleep suit where it had come off his nappy, but not that often. He's only just started sleeping on his tummy but he had no issues side sleeping with it on and it never seemed to bother him at all when he had it on during awake time and was on his tummy.
We used it until about 7 months. Great for peace of mind. Had a few incidents where it went off and I found J sleeping peacefully. Can never help but wonder if the little buzz it gives off kept him breathing. Guess you'd never know, but I liked having it there for reasurrance.
I second having a sound monitor too. Make sure that your sound monitor can pick it up by testing it too.
The battery is supposedly only good for a year of daily use. So just be careful if you buy second hand.
