It is Ava's first birthday party on the 5th September and I have no idea what sort of outfit to put her in. Ideally I'd like something she can wear again because we dont have heaps of money to spend on something she'll only wear once. Any ideas?!!!!

if you want her to have fun and play then i would just dress her in what clothes she already has. shes bound to get dirty, especially if theres going to be cake!

Lil miss had a gorgeous birthday outfit that would have been really expensive, except that I got everything on sale (it was still a bit $$$ but hey, birthdays are special!)

I bought her a pink merino vest from the Bobux outlet for $20 (marked down from $60) and and OshKosh pink ruffle skirt on sale for $20 (marked down from $40 at Farmers). I just put a plain cream top under the vest, and cream tights and her little Bobux shoes, and she looked so cute.

I don't have a really good pic of the outfit (coz she wore a bib most of the day lol) but you can see it here...

She also has a gorgeous pink tutu from JK that was around $20 from memory, Cotton On Kids have them too.

I had my girl in jeans and matching tops (tops because I had two that went really well with the jeans and by halfway thru the day she was filthy and I had to change her shirt.). It was comfy, practical, and pretty. She is still wearing the jeans once a week.

LOL I put lil miss in hers quite often too, even tho it's special it's silly to have it and not wear it.

We just went with these hoody dresses Jess' auntie sent from the UK. They were cute but not fancy enough that I would spend the day stressing over every little thing they touched or got to close to. I wanted them to be able to play, get dirty and go crazy with cake all while looking cute.

I wouldn't stress too much go with something practical that you can keep using that way you won't feel so bad about spending the dosh. Babies look gorgeous no matter what the outfit

We got this outfit for Gabrielle, she still can wear the dress now and she is nearly 2! Dresses are goo like that. I cant remeber the cost but it was only from baby factory. I think if you want to, get something new that she will be able to wear often :)
