Topic: crapming.... Posted: 13 June 2006 at 3:43pm |
i didnt know if this was normal or a question to ask a midwife or a doctor so thought i'd check in here!!!!!....
for the past week, off and on i have been experiencing some pretty painful cramps, like when you are about to have "the runs" and even noise associated with it, but nothing comes out! my bowel movments (TMI) are normal, soft etc... not runny or constipated.
i feel lots of pressure in my "bum" and honestly think im going to poop... but like i say, it just is crampy.
my baby is moving normally, and i have been having some tightenings, as well as dull aches and cramps, just wondering if any one else has experienced the kind of OUCHY pain without any poop?
does it sound like gas or wind? i wouldnt know.... but it hurts lots, and i have a high pain threshold. it starts up high and im almost certain it has something to do with bowels, its just everything seems normal too?....
any ideas???
thanks heaps (you'll all prob tell me to talk to midwife but is it more a doc thing? or totally normal? i havent had it in my other pregnancies.)

Sounds ouchy. If in doubt, give your midwife a ring - that's what she is there for, you won't be bothering her. It sounds like an irritable bowel - like you can get if you have too much raw fruit etc, however it's always better to ring the [free] midwife before racing off to the [usually expensive] doctor.
Good luck and I hope you feel better soon!

I have had something that is kind of like what you describe. I wrote it off to baby having a bit of a sit or play around my bowel, although I could be completely off the mark. For me it is slightly painful and accompanied by rumbling and pressure like I need to do a poo but it seems to disappear whether I go to the toilet or not. If it is really uncomfortable, I'd mention it to your midwife.

I'm no help, I've only found that when I get that feeling I do need to go but hello constipation.

It's funny how we all avoid ringing our midwives!!! I have to be rolling over in pain and for it still to be daylight before I even contemplate ringing her - even though she gets paid for 24/7 care.

I found I was getting very similar symptoms when I was about to unleash a very potent cloud of fart gas Although occasionally it would be accompanied by poop bombs so if it was painful I usually end up running to the toilet. Do have it checked out though, as that's only my personal experience, and Maree is right - your midwife *does* get paid for 24/7 care.

I had a sore tummy and like Jax said released a VERY potent cloud of fart gas and just about killed poor hubby in the car of all places lololol he had his head out the window and i was pissing myself laughing hehe
I think its probably like Maree said possibly ur bowels irritated? Have you eaten anything lately that could irritate them? I used to find spicy food irritated mine.
