Topic: 2yr old bday present Posted: 05 September 2009 at 6:34pm |
Just after an idea of what I could get a 2 year old boy for his birthday next week. Was going to get a piece of clothing to help out parents, but wanted to get a toy type thing as I can't imagine him being too excited over clothes.
Was thinking around $20 (30 max)
Thanks for ideas!

you can get some real cool books now. that have things that pop out to make real thick cardboard trucks and stuff. he'll destroy it but will have fun in the process. lol. cant go wroong with tonka trucks too. at farmers you can get the decent old school metal ones not the junky plastic ones and they are normally about that price. you can never have too many tonka trucks! lol

Cars, trucks etc are a HUGE hit with my 2 year old. Theres loads you can get from the warehouse for under $20... matchbox cars are good. Or bigger ones. We tend to go for metal ones because they last alot better than most of the plastic ones. Little tikes cars are plastic though and they are strong plastic. We find the really big ones don't get played with so anything that can fit in the palm of your hand or just a bit bigger are great. He pushes them around everywhere

Matchbox cars, plain paper and colourful pens, musical instruments, books, tools - all favourites here too
I don't think you'd get in trouble if you didn't get a toy though. Jake didn't get the whole present thing, I'd be more inclined to splash out for his third bday TBH but thats JMO.

Oh thanks guys. I must have baby brain as I didn't even think of obvious things such as trucks.
Like the idea of books...and being a teacher I quite happily preech about reading books to children lots.
mmmm, will hit the shops next week.
And thanks Babe for the info...I thought 2 year olds would be ripping into presents....but maybe not, maybe I'll get him a box?
