i love my prefolds. however i never had much luck pad folding them and prefer them with a snappi. i still have all my prefolds and they are great pocket stuffers too. i like the real napies covers too.

I like the Real Nappy covers we have but they are old ones and are Bummis branded, I'm pretty sure they've changed recently so I'm not sure about the new ones...
Like Bizzy, we prefer to use a Snappi instead of pad folding, but maybe that's coz of the runny BF poo!

We have the newvborn size real nappies and the covers are the old "bummis' ones, i have heard the new Real Nappies covers are not very good and do leak more.
You can get the original bummis covers off Trade Me.

We spend a small fortune on them and found they were not so good. We now use Pea Pods and they are fantastic! We do not have leaking issues and they look great without pants on....
I know many people that have had big problems with Real Nappies and they are quite expensive too.

I prefer using mine with a snappi. I assume that I have the new covers and they do tend to leak but then Ben seems to be a very heavy wetter. I am moving to the fitteds I had with Jack but have found them good until now. However I got mine ex TM and don't know if I would have been happy to pay full retail

I have used real nappies and find them great (I think my covers are the bummis ones)
I pad fold the prefolds and have used them on my little one since birth (along with pockets)
They used to be great at night time with a booster however now my wee boy is a bit older (7months) I have to put a fluffy type cover over top aswell to stop the leeks.

Are these the same ones that are available in the supermarkets?

I use my real nappies for nearly every nappy change, I occasionally use my pockets but to be honest i think i prefer the pre folds.
I use them with a snappy and as long as the cover is on properly eg: no prefold sticking out anywhere, then i find they are great, i have never had a leak from them and they are great at keeping poo explosions in.
like others have said they are great for stuffing pockets too.
Sometimes for night i will put a booster in with them. I sometimes use one of thos fluffy old fashioned covers on top for night as well instead of the cover it comes with.
yep they are available at countdown/foodtown i think

Yup same ones from the supermarket! We were initially going to get the birth to 3 year pack, think it was about $645 and covered you from birth to 3 years but we decided to get PeaPodz in the end as kept hearing negative things about them!

I find snazzipants unbleached cotton prefolds much better quality then real nappies, they are 4x8x4, so 2 more layers in the middle=more absorbent.
I use them with a snappi and bummis super brite wraps or bummis polarfleece wrap. Hardly ever leakes.
You can buy them from snazzipants website or try to find cheep secondhand ones from trademe

I have now sold all my Real Nappies as they leaked constantly. I was really disappointed in them!

DS is a huge pee'er, and in the 12 months I've been using Real Nappies I haven't had any problems with leakage. In fact, I've had a number of issues with Pea Pods, Econobum and BumGenius but never any with the RN's. We have the Birth to Potty pack and it's been one of the best baby things we bought before DS was born.
I really like the idea of supporting a local, NZ owned business so was bummed to hear that others are having leakage problems. Did anyone call them to discuss?

I've sold all my Real Nappies covers too (but kept all the pre-folds). I found they leaked really badly, and the new covers weren't very soft and comfy.
We're now using EcoBubs Wool Pockets and bumGenius' ~ both are FANTASTIC

We have been successfully using the real nappies since Beth was a newborn. Had no leaks and use the real nappies covers as well as some of the older bummis and found both to be equally good. Have brought some off trademe and some new. Love the easy of washing and drying and of course the cheapness......

I think it's wise to buy a few of a nappy type to try out before committing to one system! Our little guy has mostly been in pocket nappies, but I make those myself. The peapods we bought would leak terribly but that's because I have a stick-legged bub!
I bought Real Nappies for #2 because I find velcro soooo much easier on newborns, and if they leak then at least I can use the soakers in pocket nappies!
Oh and I use the REal Nappies toddler cover on my birth-to-potty bamboozles I bought from tots bots 2 years ago as the size 1 wrap is well outgrown, and it works a treat.
