Just wondering if anyone had any early symptoms of pregnancy like before a missed period, and what were they? Thanks

Well I wish!! I had no symptoms what so ever, except a missed period. It wasn't til the day after I found out that they all hit me at once, and I was already 8 weeks along lmfao. |

We were trying to get pregnant, but I had all my usual pre-period symptoms (pimples, cramps, being cranky), so thought i mustn't be pregnant, but I was!

i had one leaky breast, but they were quite tender too... mild cramping from at least a week before my period was due.... gagging while cleaning teeth.... general ill feeling which put me off some food.... and i did have a slight blood streaked discharge after going to the loo once... i kinda just knew and i kept testing but was too early and they kept coming back negative!   the symptoms got worse from about 8 weeks for me..... didnt have the usual change in vaginal discharge for quite a few weeks.

Aching breasts and feeling REALLY tired. The last two times I have known from about 4 weeks which is ridiculously early and makes for LONG pregnancies. At least with the first I didn't know until 8 or 9 weeks.

There are tests available that are supposed to be able to give you a result as soon as 4 days before your period is due...
Just be aware - there are people (I'm one of them!) who don't get a postive result until two weeks or so AFTER their period is due.

I second that - beware of the early tests!!  I got a wrong result too, and didn't test positive until just after my period was due.  If I did it again, I'd have tried to wait until then to test in the first place.

I was also warned against early testing because it can pick up pregnancies that don't eventuate...ie it may test postive but you get what appears to be a normal period 3 days later. Sometimes it's better to be blissfully unaware and just assume that it's a period rather than an early miscarriage! (speaking from experience)
I had what I thought were my usual pre-period symptoms and only realised that I was late when I worked out I'd stuffed my dates! Didn't think I was pregnant either but guess what? I was!

i would try to wait until you are a week late. with jack i tested the day before AF was due and got BFN, then tested again 2wks later and got the BFP.
this time i tested 2 days late and got a very faint 2nd line..patience just isn't me i didn't have any symptoms at all either time except the missed period. i agree with maree, finding out at 4wks makes it a very long pregnancy!! |

I had a feeling I was pregnant as I was about 3-4 days late and I had sore breasts plus a sore back. I did a pregnancy test and the lines were pretty faint but that was the first time I had experienced this as from past experience tests were definitely negative. I went to the doctors the next day and it was confirmed then |

I only had one major symptom - I felt really really tired. A few days before I tested positive (which was at about 5 weeks) I was sitting at my desk trying hard to keep my eyes open at lunchtime! I suspected I might be pg and asked my friends who had been and they all said "well are your boobs sore"and i said "no" (infact i didnt get sore boobs till 4 months or so) and they all said "then you are probably not" - thats the thing, symptoms are so different for different people...
I htink that instinct plays a huge role as well - I just had a feeling...and I know heaps of people who have been the same!

Now that I look back on it, major tiredness was probably my biggest symptom as well. However, I didn't realise why, since I had been unemployed for five weeks before starting my job and thought it was just my body adjusting to a new routine ! My period had also skipped a month, but that had happened before, so took absolutely no notice of it LOL

I was REALLY tired but put that down to working in Melbourne for a week, had the sore boobies also but put that down to period was due (due the day before I left NZ). It was weird but I just "knew" that I was pregnant. I waited until the following week when I was home with DH before we tested, then I only got the vertical line (not a cross) so ended up calling the Customer Service number on the packet |

I was really tired. I even fell asleep at work I mentioned this to my friend and she suggested a test. My period wasnt even due for a few days but the test was a positive.
