Hi There.
I'm nearly 12 weeks pregnant and will be moving to Auckland after Xmas. I'm currently in Sydney so completely green to the midwife system in NZ.

I have a feeling I've left it late but wondering if anyone could recommend midwife or midwife groups. I'll be living in the Ponsonby area.

Thanks in advance!
Louise

Okay this link will take you to find a midwife in auckland, it has a list of midwives and the area they are in so if you know where in Auckland you are moving to that will help: Auckland midwives list

This one is the same sort of thing but you can select gender, area and suburb. You don't need to bother about the name or practice part:
everybody midwife search

Hope it helps, I'm not from Auckland but it's how I found my mw. That and I also got a list from my doctor with midwives in my area.

Another option would be to ring a hospital or medical centre in the area you plan to move and get them to send you a list of local midwives, or if you have friends and family in auckland get them to do it for you.

Hi,
I'm not in Auckland so can't help with recommendations but I think that at 12wks you should still be able to find someone, I don't think you want to leave it too long though.
Congratulations and best of luck!

Get someone to call 0800MUM2BE and get them to send you out a list of independant MWs for your area... Give them a call (normally there is at least 1 A4 page full) and see if any of them will take you on. I think its something you will want to get onto, otherwise you might have to go witht the team of MWs at the hospital.. (which in know in Wellington tehy are great, so I hope Auck will be just as good)
GL!
