Hi,

So I am trying to decorate a cake for a 1st birthday, its a round choccy cake and I am decorating it like a clock, ds's fave things.

I have some white fondant icing to put on top and will put some butter cream icing to stick that on, but how do you stick stuff to a smooth fondant icing.

This is a whole new world to me

Hi Fiona,
I'm assuming that you know how to cover your cake already.

If you are sticking stuff to fondant icing the best thing to do is get some clear vanilla essence and then brush it on the bottom of whatever it is you want to stick on to the fondant with a paintbrush.

Also remember for colouring fondant you need gel colours rather than than the liquid you get at the supermarket.
