To be honest I found them pretty useless, especially when eating and drinking, and they definitely didn't clear it up any faster.
I was pregnant at the time and my MW had said it would be fine for me to use Zovirax, but when I got to the chemist he bloody well wouldn't give it to me!

I found them great Dal - I took one of mums when I was pregnant (too cheap to buy a whole pack). Mum and I get coldsores pretty badly, but I found these worked well, as long as you got them to stick well in the first place. Make sure you put them on before moisturiser or makeup too. If anything, I think having a patch means you're less likely to pick it when it gets to that horrible itchy stage and therefore it heals quicker.

I got a sample for my mum last time she had one and she said that they were pretty good. I happened to be passing a chemist and popped in to ask about them and the lovely lady gave me a sample for Mum - could be worth a asking

I am over due a coldsore by about a 2 months (usually get 2 a year - April and Oct!) so I may go and see about a sample from the chemist

Me - they worked ok, I don't think they cleared up the coldsore quickly though in fact I think it took longer to clear up. I also felt that the edges peeled away and I felt everyone was staring. Plus side is that if you forgot and kissed bubs it was contained or if you forgot and applied lipstick again it hasn't spread. Another great tip is apply a bit of aftershave to the cold sore - trust me it stings BUT it dries the coldsore out and they are gone quite quickly, but if you are pregnant you may not want to use and don't lick your lips the taste of aftershave is gross.

Thanks everyone.
Guess how many Ive got - 5 yes 5.
I got knocked in the mouth on Saturday and split my lip so I KNEW I would get a coldsore - but hell didnt expect Id get 5! Zoverax just isnt doing it for me anymore, it use to be great but def not working now.
I tried the patches last night - man they are hard to apply!
My problem is though that because I have so many I have to use like 3 patches to get them covered and they feel like they arent doing anything?
The coldsores have come up HUGE today and are throbbing like theres no tomorrow!
Any other suggestions? I leave for my girls trip on Friday!

Poor you - i so feel your pain
Ice cubes are good for easing the throbbing but a bit tricky to hold in place
