Cool ill be watching this theard, because I got a faint bfp this morning and im due for the gym tomorrow. So it would be interesting what the answer is. Sorry its almost a theard highjack
i did them right through but i had really strong ab muscles so it wasnt too much of a strain. i was running ab class through the first couple months of this pregnancy but threw my toys out of the cot and said i wouldnt run it cos 20 mins intense work isnt something id risk doing.
i used to do aquarobics with a fair bit of ab stuff and i kept up till i was almost 9 months. Possilby not the same thing tho. i think it depends on how long you had been doing them before, how long you do them and all sorts of stuff. you would certainly not do it tho if it felt uncomfortable in any way i would imagine.
I used to do heaps of sit ups (trying to get rid of my muffin roll)
I was told to stop the sit ups, and try and do different exercised. Because your tummy muscles are trying to stretch etc your meant to let them go blah blah (coming from my PT friend lol)
Now instead of sit ups I do a lot of swimming, a lot of different exercises that exercise my core but sort of avoid my tummy muscles...
Maybe book a appointment with a PT and see if they can suggest other exercises for you?
I was told to stop doing sit ups as soon as I got my BFP which I don't really understand as I thought it would be good to have strong stomach muscles for birth.
I dont know what is considered safe, but for me I kept doing them until it started to get uncomfortable.
I stopped doing them at about week 16. I guess it is just what suits your body and how your bump is developing. I kept doing my cardio for another few days but found that too hard as well, so now I just use my work out the time to go for a good walk up the hills instead.
