Hi Ladies

Need a bit of advice. Since yesterday afternoon I have been getting like period cramping on and off. Plus my bump has been tightening sometimes as well but not each time I get the pain IYKWIM? Its been uncomfortable enough that I woke a few times last night and am awake now despite not getting to sleep till about 2:30am. I've also had a slight backache... I don't want to get my hopes up but how do I know whether this is something/could turn into something/is just my body messing with me?? I haven't had any form of show/waters and bubs is still moving around and things so maybe its nothing at all but just wanted to see what you think and whether its worth talking to my midwife?

TIA Lovely Ladies

I have been the same over night Bex. Really frustrating!! I spoke to my MW about it at my last apppointment and she said that it may be the start of labour or it may just be my body getting ready.

Its only normal very early labour stuff. Dont worry until they start hurting and are regular and dont stop.

Bex, I have been exactly the same as you, probably for the last week had period like pains and the last few days been getting a sore back (which I don't get normally). Guessing it is our bodies ramping up for labour. Would be nice to think it means it is gonna happen early for us but we best not get our hopes up ay

hah snap me too - I keep really getting my hopes up with the amount of crampy period pain I'm getting, combined with tightening, especially when it was combined with major lower back pain too. But it keeps stopping and starting, like last night had it from maybe 7-11pm every 5-10 minutes, and I went to bed hoping, but nope, nothing since! Since we are all almost there I'm guessing it must just be things starting to get closer

I hate to have to say this....... but i had this for 2 weeks before DD came

Being a first pregnancy i always got my hopes up thinking it was real labour.

When i was in real labour the pain was much more intence, i just had to laugh that i though the earlier pains were labour.

I remember always reading my antenatal notes, they said if you have to ask if in labour then you most likely arent in labour. That was true for me, im not sure about others

Good Luck not too much longer

I have to say im quite relieved that theres a few people having this, lol I'm quite happy for baby to stay put at least 2 more weeks!! The only thing that would make it worth baby coming earlier is for the MS to end!!

They have pretty much gone away now so looks like its just my body giving me test runs lol!

Yeah, hate to say it too, but I've had this since about 36 weeks too and still no baby here!    I've had no show or waters breaking either.    I guess it's just our bodies preparing for labour, whenever it may be!

Im way earlier than all of you but I have had the same cramping since last week and last pregnancy I would get it on and off for the last 4 weeks or so too..I went early with my daughter though so I keep getting nervous that this bub will be even earlier!
