I need some recipes for no-fail truffles or something along the lines of that, for me to make and take to the IL's...

Preferable no booze haha.

Not neccesarily truffles but something christmassy along the same lines...??

Hopefully something easy...

I know this would be best in the recipes piece but thought it'd be more likely to be seen in General, sorry ladies

in the recipe section is renee's xmas cake. I'm planning on making these into muffins and then icing them with white icing, putting a spearmint and jaffa on the top ala holly. not sure if this is what you want, but I'm going to take them to Taine's daycare on Monday

1 1/2 cups Dark chocolate, melted
1/2 cup reduced cream
2 tsp coffee (use a good one like moccona)
sifted cocoa powder for coating.

Combine reduced cream and coffee, then mix in melted chocolate. (Mix really well so it's all one colour) Bang in fridge for an hour to set.

Remover from fridge, make balls, roll in cocoa to coat. Place on tray covered with wax paper and chill again. Store in a covered container in fridge.

Easy peasy! (Might want to store them in a container small enough to fit inside chilli bin for transporting)

mmm pavalova!

My mum makes a stained glass jelly!
Its red, green and orange yellow, and you set the jelly in shallow trays, then when its set you mix all the jelly together in a bowel so its bitty and then you add a mixture of cream and gelatin(i will have to ask mum for the peoper reciepe tomorrow!) and it sets between the jelly making a stained glass window look. Thats what am making this year!

Mum has a special christmas jelly mold

Sorry i know its nothing like truffles etc lol, but its yummy and easy

Oh sorry I wasn't very clear, I was kind of meaning recipes that could easily make up, put on platters, give as gifts etc... Will try the muffins and the truffles though..

Might make the jelly for xmas day at Mums though and no-one in my family really likes pavlova (I guess its more cos we have more than enough puddings its always the one that doesnt get eaten?)

But thanks for the ideas guys

Finally found my recipe for marshmallow balls.

100g butter, 1/2 tin consensed milk, 2 t cocoa, 1/2 c brown sugar, 1 t vanilla. Melt together in a pot. Cool slightly and add crushed round wine biscuits to get a firm mix (about 1 pkt). Wet hands and shape mix around marshmallows, roll in coconut. Get them in fridge quick before anyone ele in the house sees.

We do these every year and they always go down well. In fact, people at work were disappointed this year as I hadn't made any before started my holiday. In fact am just cooling the mix of my first batch now. You can also use squares of caramellow or pepermint chocolate. Or anything else you can think of. Yum! I love christmas!

iv made these from toni but i reckon you could change the booze out with more cream or other flavour thats non alcoholic

25g butter
250g Dark choc
1/4C ground hazelnuts
1/4 baileys - CHANGE THAT OUT WITH SOME OTHER LIQUID
1/2C cream

melt choc and butter in saucepan
stir in the rest of the stuff
stick ion fridge for a few hours to set enough to rol into balls
roll into balls and coat in more choc or coconut
refridgerate to completely set

SOOO YUM, had to hide them from DH lol

Rovic you are a lifesaver . My nana used to make those and I wanted to make them this year but didn't have the recipe, now I can. yay.
