Hi,
i ve been successfully using Ecobubs night pockets, they are great no leaks... i was happy untill about this week, my daughters nappies started smelling.... eg. at midnight, i can smell the wee in the nappy (even if she s dry, i mean no leaks).
Anyone experienced the same problem??
could that be that she s no peeing more ? or is it just the summer heat that makes pee more smelly after several hours.

I have no problems with smell during the day.
Any ideas what i could try to eliminate this???
I d be gratefull for any comments, advise....as i ve switshed to disposables at night, the smell was too much.

Thanks a milion!!!

Add a capful of canistan to the final rinse cycle when washing and hang in sun. This will help to eliminate the smelly build up.

Other option is to add some bamboo boosters to make the nappies more absorbent.

We too have this problem and are also keen for some advice. We use the baby cheeks brand and use the bamboo boosters also. We also hang out in the sun and they still smell at night.( they dont smell when dry).

Is there an alternative to Canasten as we currently don't use any chemicals in any of our laundry detergents and would like to keep it this way?

WIth my nappies if they start to build up (this is the urine/wee smell) you can strip them by adding baking soda/white vinegar to the wash. I always give them an extra rinse cycle after finishing if I've done this otherwise they smell really strong of vinegar.
You can google stripping nappies online.

Cloth Nappy Love has some info on stripping

an alternative to canistan would be the baking soda/vinegar.

you can also add a couple of drops of tree tea oil to the nappy bucket and rinse cycle.

Just tried to wash with baking soda/vinegar and it worked well!! nappies smell fresh and not at all a smell of vinegar.

Also thanks for the tip for the "cloth nappy love" web. Great site.

Ooh I will have to try the baking soda/vinegar in the next wash. I have no sense of smell but my hubby says DD smells like wees when she is up during the night (we don't change her then though and she's still dry in the morning!)
