DD is just about to turn 1 and has finally started eating properly in the last month or so. Still doesn't actually eat everything we give her but will try most things so I'm sure that will change. I have been doing on average 6 bfs a day (that includes maybe 1 at night) but now am wondering what to do with the bfs. It is hard to bf in the middle of awake time so I've been feeding DD as soon as she wakes up and then before am and pm nap. I know I *should* demand feed but it doesn't really work well with my lovely go-go-go baby who won't stop for food

So my question to all you BLWers is: did you reduce the number of bfs when your baby started eating a little bit. Did you drop a feed (which one?) or just let them feed the same number of times but they'd drink less each time? How often did you offer water outside of meal times?

Thanks for reading my novel

my girl always has a bf in the morning and most days she wants it as soon as she wakes..

you may find that because you are giving her a bf before she asks she isnt as hungry for other food.. i would try and see what happens if you wait till she asks or demands a bf. with water i provide it with a meal.

I always have water around. Its with every meal and then we have a sippy cup lying around too and I get it for him often....or he finds it himself...but we have had 30+ degree days.

Our BFs dropped quite naturally and we are now on 1-2....which I would stop if I a) knew a quicker way to get him to sleep when I am home alone with a toddler also and b)didnt need the break to sit down for 5 min.

Ds eats 3 full meals and occasional snacks but we haven't dropped any feeds yet. He bf's in a routine and feeds 4x during the day and once at night. He's cut back the 11am and 3pm feeds so I tried to merge them into one full feed at 1pm but he wasn't happy so I'll leave it as is.
