Topic: Dopplers off Trademe Posted: 07 February 2010 at 6:54pm |
Hi All,
I'm thinking aout buying a doppler off Trademe as I'm a bit paranoid and would also love to be able to hear baby (being nearly 14 weeks it's ages till my next scan and obviously can't feel anything yet either)
Has anyone bought one, if so which one and what were your experiences??
Thanks!!
Rachel

I bought a 2nd hand angel sounds doppler. It came with the gel stuff to make it easier to hear the HB, and also put my ipod ear phones in as the others were crap. I bought it just before xmas (I had thought about buying one after my NT scan (once I knew bubs was all good) but kept telling myself I will feel it soon, just another week, but ended up having an anterior placenta and didnt feel bubs till 21 weeks.
Anyway I still crank it out if I dont feel bubs for a whole day just to reassure myself that all is well
I will def get one earlier next time.
The doppler I got was fine. I would have liked one that displayed the BPM but couldnt justify the extra cost...

we are also using an angel sounds one that someone lent us. It's really good and I'd recommend it.

I have a friend who also got one off Trade Me quite cheap as she's had a couple of "scares" during her pregnancy, she loves it used it in the earlier days before her bump started showing so people believed she was UTD, used it before bubs started moving to check he was alright and uses it now when he has quiet periods (as they do...). I can't remember what brand, but I'll ask her.

I bought an Angel Sounds doppler when I was around 12 weeks and it was fantastic. I got it off Trade Me and it came with the gel, it was only around $70 from memory.
I used it all the way up and could always find the heartbeat really quickly. Well worth it in my opinion.
I'm pretty sure this is the website for the person I bought from but it doesn't look like they have any listed on TM at the moment, you would need to buy from their website.
