Jo Henwood, we had her with our first and we plan on using her again for the rest of kids.

My midwife is Kelly Manninen and she is really lovely, she's young but really on to it. Always approachable, friendly and goes the extra mile. I thibk she's great! Very book smart and she has delievered over 500 babies.
Megan Holloway is apparently excellent too, Ive seen her deliver a baby and she is very professional. She is an ex ICU and ?ED nurse as well, if you want her you have to get in quick.
Yay another Palmy baby Google Kelly Manninen heaps of testimonials

I've had janet puklowski and kelly maninen, I think Janet has retired and I liked kelly for the most part. If you want to know what I didn't like PM me if your considering her.

My midwives are more into home birth/low intervention births, so it depends what you are after.
They were fabulous even though I ended up needing intervention, so PM me if you want their details.

I had Megan and cannot recommend her highly enough, she was fantastic, especially when things got complicated during my labour and after we got home with Cooper, the fact that she was a trained nurse was reassuring too. Both DF and I had a great bond with her and made a friend in her

Thanks for all your comments, i'm thrilled that there are so many good MW to choose from and disappointed at some of the bad experiences that i've heard of.
Keep the advice coming...

Janet P was my replacement for Daphne. They job switched. Daphne to the hospital & Janet to Daphne's job. They switched back around March last year.
Book into a midwifery centre. Most of us seemed to be at the one in Heretaunga street. Meet up with one that can fit you in, see how you go getting on with her. See if your personalities match & if not, feel free to change.
I wished that Maretta was still independent, she was awesome with my first & really hoped she'd have been back for Cooper. I didn't get all the way through & I was gutted but I had Daphne as a replacement & then Blondie as the main person at my birth. Second time around I started with Daphne & got switched to Janet.
