Topic: Water sling? Posted: 22 February 2010 at 11:38pm |
I was wondering if anyone on here has made a sling (pouch sling) that you can use in the water. If so, what type of fabric did you use?
Also, any tips for fabric that is strong enough for a sling, but suitable for hot weather?
Thanks

Have you seen the Breeze Baby sling, I have one of those which can be used in the water and is good for hot weather....I don't know what the material is but I could have a look at the instructions and see if it tells me anything about it....

There is also a ring sling available through Scarecrow Farm that is suitable for water - look on their website for TaylorMade ring slings.

Hahaha. We live by the sea, and it would be nice to carry her in the sling when we stand in the waves, instead of having to just hold on to her.

I think some people might use in shower as well, and in the pools. I got ours for at the beach too.

Oh! so you mean one that is water proof or resistant. I had images of swimming with them in it and that was freaking me out LOL

No, not waterproof. But when cotton gets wet it get very heavy.
Mesh sounds nice, I just wonder if that's strong enough.

Yea, sports mesh is just a name, it has quite large holes, but they are woven in, not cut out, IYKWIM?
ETA if the mesh is good enough for mens nether regions, it's gotta be good for baby. lol
