not sure up in rototua but at the pak n saves here in chch you actually have to pay for the banana boxes now!
also lookup your local freecycle, you can place a 'wanted' add and people will reply to you

Is PacNSav the only supermarket near you? We got a massive amount fo banana boxes from out New World and Countdown. The key is to figure out what day they get new stock in and go in there before lunch each day to get the boxes.

You could have all mine but I just cut doors and windows into them for tunnels for the kids!!
Try (if you can find one) someone that buys in like small motors and stuff for building whatever, small motors come in awesome strong boxes.... Sorry that sounds really confusing and not at all helpful!!!

Mitre 10 is great for boxes for moving, they have heaps of different sizes. Give them a go?

Are you moving yourselves or getting movers in?
If you are getting movers in you don't need to unpack your clothes drawers etc, they pick up the entire unit.
For Boxes try one of the other supermarkets they have to pay to get rid of them, would be happy to give them away.

Ask your local Dick Smith, I work for them down here and I'm sure they would be happy to give you some boxes, they get quite a few with their stock each weekday and they are pretty good size for moving.

our local New World just folds them up and puts them in a crate and if anyone wants them you just grab them out.
they dont care as they have to pay to get rid of the crate.
and our Pak n Save just put the boxes including the banana boxes out for anyone to grab and pack their groceries into as they still charge for bags
