did anyones DP/DH say that 2 was definitely enough even though you had considered having a 3rd then ended up changing their mind and wanting a 3rd says a few years later?

Kinda off subject, but i keep umming and ahhing about another altho technically my 4th but since my eldest lives with his dad and is a teenager it would be like 3.......and I just cant get past the whole 3s a crowd thing. I like the dynamics even numbers gives. where as the odd thing means that someone is going to get left out. Esp when you already have one of each flavour.......so you will always end up with two and then one that will be left out.........i know plenty of people have 3 but i just wonder how FAIR it really is on the odd one out or the middle child.........I grew up with 4 of us, and we got paired up in two eldest and two youngest (atlho technically i was closer to the eldest by 1yr and the youngest was 4yrs my junior which i thought was unfair).......but it was 2 girls and two boys also so we could pair up like that also............

Anyway I know i wont get past DH on having another one anyway so i shouldnt worry myself with details.............but thats just my out loud thinking for you, which doesnt answer your question in any way shape or form........but at least you have one reply

Mine only wanted 1 - absolutely no more at all. But then he decided he wanted another pretty soon after we had Gabrielle - I was UTD again when she was 6 months. For now we have our hands very full with our two but when they are older we will probably have another one. I know I could twist his arm lol.

My DH wanted 3 and now hes saying two is enough.   I wanted two, then 3 and now I'm thinking its too hard to have another. We have been changing our minds constantly but are pretty sure we'll stop at 2 now. (hehe, 95% sure anyway)

My DH always said he only wanted one, but he is now warming to the idea of another. Give me a year and I'm sure he'll be really keen to try for a second.

I was one of 3 originally and then 5 when my Mum remarried, no-one was ever left out in our family either (and I'm a middle child)

DP was adamant that 1 was enough for him (DS is not his biologically, and he missed the first 2 years)... but hes backed off after seeing how much fun Jaelyn is, and is happy to have one more, I was one of 2 for most of my childhood (little brother didnt arrive until I was 16) And I would have liked another sibling to hang out with when my sister was being a PITA lol!

Essentially we are looking at the classic 2.5 kids and the whte picket fence lol (except ours is brown )

I'm debating this with myself - we have two gorgeous girls and i'd love more. Unfortunately DH going through chemo and he doesn't think its fair to put another child through all the uncertainty with him ... i figure that it will be hard but at least we'd all have each other so the more the merrier ... but then i can see his point of view and I just don't know! Argh I hate making decisions!

Yes mine said only 2 and I bugged him for a while to have the 3rd. Now I have had some major surgery he wants to have a 3rd and now I have said no.

I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!

I wanted a 3rd child in the family, DH was adamant 2 was enough - I got knocked up out of pure luck and chance (was taking all the precautions) and he's come around to it so quickly that I'm pretty sure I could have convinced him to have another further down the track anyways - men can definitely change their minds! He was even looking at getting the snip to avoid another baby (though he is definitely doing that after this one arrives now...)

DH was adamant we were only having 2 children, he never wanted more (was going to have the snip after the 2nd was born), then we found out we were having twins. We will be TTCing next year, and both of us are hoping for twins again, so 4 kids. If we only have a singleton he doesn't want to actually TTC a 4th though...

Men are funny aren't they Kate?

Chickielou the accidents that are really accidents are best, I could never have done 'accidentally on purpose' though heaps of people suggested it! It got so worked up when I found out I was because I thought he was going to flip but he was fine! There really is no predicting how a bloke will respond to a situation.

funnily enough it is always my husband who brings up the subject of 3 children..he says "so 2 is enough" then next thing he says "so do you really want a 3rd" I basically tell him that I dont want to be pregnant now (would be a 12 or so month gap if I was and that for me is way too close)

I told him if we were to have a 3rd Id ideally like a 3 year age gap between Lucas and #3 least that way Megan will be at school and Lucas will be a bit more independent.

he jokingly said I want a 3rd because I want another girl..lol I told him well I may not get another girl :P I would be happy with whatever I had :)

DH was fairly sure 2 was enough and now that our whoopsie is on the way he told me the other day that he, 'hasn't ruled out another'! Which is actually kind of cool as I'd been thinking of a fourth recently too!

DP only wanted 2 children (which mean's we would have only have had one biological child between us as he raises Ethan as his own) how ever we got a 2 for 1 special, which is good because I always wanted three children =oD
