I keep having dreams about going into labour/waters breaking in wierd/awkward/public places (mall/petrol station/swimming pool etc)

Has anyone gone into labour somewhere 'different'? All of my friends seem to have started when they were at home/in bed etc - surely not everyone is that lucky?

hehe , with C I was at home , playing barbies with my sister

with Ty , I was in the car, had just been to the mw who told me we would book an induction , got into the car and the "oh f*ck , now I remember " contractions started , we were still able to go and have lunch with his parents , then go home and watch movies before I needed to go to the maternity unit tho

At my friends funeral, one of her other friends went into labor, kept it to herself tho cos she didn't want the spotlight to be taken off my friend ...

I was just at home, but my friend's waters broke in a cafe in town and they called an ambulance for her.

I am boring and at the hospital both times. Andrew's broke after I had been told to go to sleep and we will start again tomorrow morning with the induction. Josh's were broken by my MW.

I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!

My waters broke while I was in bed asleep. Very boring!

But I know what you mean about the dreams leading up to it all though. I had all sorts of weird dreams about going into labour and not being able to find DH or my friend going into labour and I had to carry her to the hospital

Oh and the "best" one - I didn't show up at work coz I was in labour but I was more worried about work than the baby

Labour started in the day at home with #1, and while I was asleep with #2. Both times I was well in to labour before my waters broke- the mw broke my waters whwn I was 6cm with #1, with #2 I was 10 cm dilated and pushing him out at home when my waters broke!

He he..my waters broke spectacularly when I was having dinner at DH's bosses house!! Halfway through the main course, and a gigantic whoosh all over their fancy dining room chair & the floor . DH & his boss both started running around, all flustered, I went to the bathroom, took off my jeans (which I'd been wearing under a dresss anyhow), came back with a towel shoved between my legs & insisted that I really needed to eat dessert & the baby wasn't likely to come in the next ten minutes .

That all happened at 8pm, it turned out we didn't get to meet DS until 5pm the next day, so plenty of time to eat my lemon meringue pie!

My contractions started at while I was at work. Waters broke while I was pushing (4 days later!!). My mum's waters broke when pg with my sister, at the Easter Show!! Dad and their friends formed a circle around her so she could walk to the car without anyone seeing her wet pants

haha. that is hilarious about being at your bosses place. im really paranoid of the same thing because with #1 i stayed at uni till i was 7 days OD and i was always freaked out my waters would break in a giant lecture theatre or in one of my science labs, im still at uni but am leaving on my due date this time but still paranoid

back to the origional question though. i was induced with gel which didnt do a hell of a lot, then my waters broke that night sitting on my hospital bed and next morning he was born

I was boring as well. Contractions started at home at 7pm, waters started leaking at the hospital at about 8am the next day, and then the MW broke them some hours later.

Went into labour at 2am so was in bed at home. Midwife broke my waters at the hospital many, many hours later.
I had recurring dreams all throughout pregnancy however, that my waters were guna break with a huge gush in the middle of pak n save! Thank goodness that didn't happen cause I had an abnormally large amount of fluid come out when MW broke waters! lol That could have been embarrassing!
