Angelcare or Tommee Tippee Monitor

Does anyone have any recommendations?

Im tossing up between angelcare sound and movement or tommee tippee ultimate reassurance monitor?

Also does anyone know of any place that sells these for a better price than what you will find in store?

I had a TT one - personally in hind sight i wish i had paid more and got the angelcare one. Reason being the angelcare has 2 sensorpads and my dd seemed to squeeze into the corner of the cot to go to sleep and set the alarm off! grr woke us all up and she was completely fine, just too far from the pad - no matter where i put the pad she would set it off! Also the angelcare parent part is recharable - the TT you have to put batteries into it to make it portable - not really a big issue but a pain in the butt, we went thru a few batteries!

No idea where to get them cheaper sorry.

I have also heard that the Angelcare monitors have less radio waves than the rest, if you were concerned about that.

I have an angelcare and loved it until about 8 weeks ago when the parent unit started making horrible noises.

I'd also highly recommend the angelcare monitor! I actually have 2 - one for when my girl is at my mum & dad's sometimes during the day, and one at my house. The one at my house has 2 parent units - one in our lounge and one in our bedroom. We've never had any problems with it whatsoever! There's always a reason if it starts beeping (ie., the cats have stood on the power inlet trying to jump up onto the windowsill and the re-chargeable battery has gone flat), or there's interference from the next door neighbours phone or a truck going passed, but if that ever happens you can just change the channel setting (take all of 2 seconds!) I'm wondering if Muz (comments above) didn't have the sensor pads in the right place on the cot base, hence when bubs was in the corner of the cot all the bells and whistles went off. When I bought the angelcare monitors, I really did my homework and even though they're probably at the top end of the market in terms of price, they really offer that peace of mind, have the temperature of the baby's room shown on the parent unit (which is actually accurate, unlike other temperature things such as the Grobag Egg I've used in the past), and what's best of all is that they're both sound and movement!    These monitors really help with those who fear SIDS! Highly recommend these to everyone! I bought mine from the babycity, but you can get them on trademe secondhand too for quite reasonable prices. Just check though that it's an up to date model if buying from trademe as there are older models in the angelcare range that don't for example show the temperature on the parent unit.

We've got the Angelcare one with only one pad and DS manages to wriggle into a corner regularly and it hasn't been a problem. I love the reassurance of the movement part
