Topic: Cloth Nappies - How many Posted: 08 August 2006 at 2:53pm |
How many cloth nappies would you buy if you are going to use both cloth and disposables?
I plan to use cloth at home and disposables when we are go out or away.

Flat cloth nappies or modern-styles ones sewn into shape?
Ha ha ha....... that said, I don't have a clue how many flat ones you'd need! (so, so helpful!)

Cloth nappies make great bassinet sheets and shoulder mop-up cloths and change table mats....we had a dozen for Andrew, but we were never planning on using them as....nappies.

We're using Fuzzi's and we've got 18 smalls and at the moment 10 medium's with an eye to increase that to around 12-14.
Probably will get around the same number in other sizes as we need them.
I'm not sure if we got too many smalls but I didn't want to run out and the aim was to wash every other day rather than every day. Although the intial cost is a bit higher it will decrease as we use them over several children.
We've also got around 10 flats for moping up, under sheets, on top of the change table etc etc.

i use cloth nappies, and we have 3 dozen, but we use them under her head in her cot, on the floor under her bum for no nappie time on top of her playmat...use them as burp cloths and of course use them as nappies.
to start with we went through about a dozen nappies a day, but now we are using around 4-5 as nappies, and 2-3 as floor mats etc.
hope this helps

I had 3 dozen for Maya, but never actually got to the bottom of the pile. I did wash every day tho.
Have bought the same for the twins.

LOL James - more that we can't afford 2 in nappies!
I bought my cloths (flat sqaures) for Maya from Kmart - they were around $16 a half dozen. They did her till she was TT at around 22 mths, then I passed them on to a friend who has also used them, and now I'm getting some of them back and they're a bit thin, but still OK to use.
Bought 3 dozen new ones from Kmart for the gremlins and going to use the old ones as burp cloths, to line the change table etc. etc.

I'm going to use disposables until our baby fits the medium sized Fuzzibunz, and I'll order 12 of those.
