Hey just found out I am on 5 weeks preggers due early Feb, any recommendations for a Wgtn midwife in northern suburbs? Man I am freaking out abit, is that normal?? Vary between excited and scared, even tho me and hubby have been thinking of this for the past 6 months.... now the time has come it's abit daunting!

It's normal to freak out!!
I am in Newlands and my MW was Michelle Vincent, she works out of the Ngaio medical centre though, but she is very highly recommended!!
I can give you her number if you like.
Or her back up is Rachel McTavish who works out of Jville Medical Centre and is also really good!

Welcome to the boards CJsays! Im in Lower Hutt so probably no good for recomendations but Im sure others will have some.
Its perfectly normal to feel a bit freaked out, we were trying for our baby and even when it happened i was a bit like "oh hell what have i done" lol. Im sure all will be fine and just enjoy your pregnancy

I dealt with Victoria while Megan was away - she seems nice. They are a really good team. Megan was best friends with my Mum at college so I have known her my whole life - she has been MW for a few of my friends too so I can highly recommend her!

Another Tawa person! You'd swear the council was getting some kind of retainer from OB to recruit new members
Congrats CJsays. I hope you can find someone

Aww... that would make me homesick!
I only get back to Tawa once a year or so
(eta: good idea though, cos when I do come back, then I can come to meet-ups!)

Haha no been in Tawa for 3 years, originally a Naenae college girl... but the baby bug going round work, 2 just had theirs 1 due in a month, and now me (altho not many ppl know here yet hehe). Good to know Victoria is recommended, I have heard lots about Megan too. I wonder if Noreen works out of Karori which could be a pain will have to wait till I get to talk to her - ph tag!!
I like the idea of a Tawa mums to be meet up! I have another friend in Tawa due in 5 weeks, she's with Cherie and thinks she is fab, haven't been able to get hold of her yet tho.
