Topic: Meat Loaf in Crockpot Help Posted: 24 June 2010 at 1:14pm |
Has anyone done a meat loaf in the Crockpot and how did you do yours?
I am wanting to try this and have a Silicone Loaf pan. Has anyone tried using one of these in the crockpot??

i make it in the crockpot regularly. Haven't used a loaf pan before (but imagine it would work) i just use one of those silicone flat sheet things so i can lift it out. You will probably want to put something under the loaf tin to make handle things so you can lift it out.
I just make the loaf and chuck in in the crcokpot for about 4hours on high or all day on low.

mine never has, i use 500g mince, thing of sausage meat, couple eggs, couple carrots grated, onion, tom sauce about 1/4c, soy sauce just a squirt and then some milk to make it moist oh and a cup of breadcrumbs. I just mold it into a loaf shape.
I use the same 'recipe' for in the crockpot as in the oven. Never made it in a loaf tin before. That recipe makes a huge loaf though 2meals for us (3adults and toddler) and lunches too.
It sometimes crumbles a bit when cutting (just when its hot). But when its cold it can be sliced really thin lol

I mould mine into shape on a piece of baking paper, and use that to lower in into the crock pot and to lift it out again once cooked!
