Dumplings
170g self-raising flour
50g butter
2 tsp dried herbs
pinch salt and pepper
~100ml milk
Combine all ingredients to make a soft dough (may need more/less milk), and shape into 8-10 balls. About 40 mins prior to serving, add dumplings to crockpot on top of stew and turn crockpot to high. Replace lid, resist opening it to see them puffing up.
OMG so yum, a delicious change to potatoes as the starch component of the meal as well.
