Argh.. i have been snoring badly for some weeks now.. and through my googling it came up with sleep apnea and that it can be harmful to the fetus due to the lack of Oxygen?!

I think I might have it because I wake myself up with this huge snort 2-3 times a night... almost like I havent been breathing before that?!! It's driving my husband nuts.. and me too .. because I wake myself up with it!! Aside from that apparently I snore badly and loudly!! eeeek.....

ANy of you have similar sleep disturbances and is there anything I can/should do- could it really be harmful?

Just another thing they dont tell you about ..!!

I found it really difficult to breathe while sleeping and snored really badly waking myself up. I ended up getting these nose strips from the chemist that pulls your nostrils apart and felt amazing. I didn't realise how much trouble I was having breathing until I got them.

I snored the whole way through my pregnancy (quite badly too, apparently!!) and had never snored before....I also, on occasion, woke myself up In my case it was hard to breathe because of a) the weight on my lungs and b) the general congestion that I had since I got pregnant. The girls are perfectly healthy though!!

I'm with you Marika! We've been taking turnabout sleeping in the spare room, DH likes to SHHH me loudly when I start up which means sleep is even more broken    And I've had a awful cold as well which hasn't helped.

Went out today and got some nasal strips - thanks chelle - will be trying those out tonight!

Apparently (according to DH) I was shocking in the last trimester. So I bought one of those nasal things that keeps your nostrils open and apart, if that makes sense lol... It hurt my nose to start with but worked a treat.

I read somewhere that its cos of increased progesterone, not sure if thats correct though.

I think my DH missed his calling as a librarian!

Am so pleased to say those nasal strips have made a huge difference - I'm still not 100% snore-free though I'm putting that down to my cold - but it's loads better, only got woken up once by "noise control" in the last two nights!
