Topic: Recommend me Board Games for 3-4yos? Posted: 16 July 2010 at 12:59pm |
I have a 3yo boy, and recently I've acquired a few board type games and he's really loving them. Great when the weather isn't pleasant out!
So far we've got:
Barrel of Monkeys
Hungry Hippos
Connect Four (He still isn't 100% aware of the rules, but he gives it a good go lol!)
Teach-a-Tot
Dora & Pooh Bear Memory Games.
What do your kids (similar in age) like to play, and easily grasp the concept of???

Isla loves all-fall-down. I have no idea if u can still buy it, she plays in at my mums house and its the one I had when i was little, lol!
Snakes and ladders.
Memory games - there are tonnes of online memory games too which Isla plays with me- she is learning how to use the computer mouse and some of the other online games - eg fireman sam flying a helicopter to put out fires, she has to use the arrow keys and the space bar and she loves them and is getting good!

buckaroo is kinda cool. Pictureka is awesome and we all play that - the rules are easy enough to be adapted for the younger child, and made more difficu;lt for my school boy.

Ours love twister, can't say I do though! I just bought dd22mths Dora Press-o-matic to put aside for her birthday after her & dd4y spent hours playing the Thomas version at a friends (following the rules very loosely!). Snakes & Ladders is always good. Hullabaloo is great too, haven't got round to buying it ourselves yet though, christmas probably. Jenga but they don't follow the rules too closely. We have Junior Scrabble too, there are two ways to play it so you can suit their age.

Any of the Orchard Toys brand of games are brilliant! We have 3 - Shopping List, Spotty Dogs and Flower Pots which we play all the time and we have borrowed a heap more from our Toy Library.
I think you can get them at some of the online toy stores. Down here in Christchurch we have bought them at Toyworld.
Totally reccomend them.
