Topic: Hens Night Help Posted: 01 August 2010 at 6:50pm |
Hey all
My best friend is getting married in a couple of months and as chief bridesmaid I'm organising the party.
She's already told me she wants it really casual (because that's how she is) but I want to organise some special things, as it is her night afterall!
My mind is just going blank as to what to do? She doesn't want a stripper lol...
It will be drinks at her place (doesn't want to hit the town or anything) and there will be about 14 of us there.
Any ideas or help would be appreciated!

At mine we had vodka jelly shots, we played some random games, had lips and we had a scavenger hunt around the neighbourhood in teams that was heaps of fun.

have some 'prizes'. can be little things from avon, $2 shop, novelty items, wine/spirits, compulsory drink cards, condoms or booby prizes - a chore to do in town later that night.
make some pink playdough and get everyone to model a penis and the winner for most realistic gets a prize.
have a handbag competition..get a list of things commonly found in handbags and see who has what and the person who has the most things off the list wins. include most randomest item as a bonus points.
(i won this game and i had the smallest handbag..the hen won the random item - she had a million little plastic penises off the veil thingy).
toilet paper wedding dresses. break into groups and design a wedding dress purely of toilet paper and cellotape.
Judge based on fashionabel, studryness, construction and conservation (ie used least toilet paper)
winning team get a prize each

I second the toilet paper wedding dress comp, loads of fun and cheap to do! We also did "pin the p*nis on the man" (ie likepin the tail on the donkey - big poster of a guy, DIY paper p*nises, pins and blindfolds are all you need). A less raunchy version is to blindfold someone, put bright red lipstick on them, spin them round and then they have to kiss the poster where they think the lips are.
Also a quiz for the hen - beforehand get someone to ask the groom a bunch of questions about himself and the bride. Then ask her the same questions and see if they match. You can penalise her for wrong questions or reward her for correct ones any way you like (doesn't have to be drinking but that works too!). You can find a list of q's to get you started here: http://www.partyplan.co.uk/asp/Game_375.asp?CategoryId=42
and here:
http://www.girlznight.co.uk/magazine/top-hen-night-party-games.html
Also to involve everyone else you can get the bride to answer a list q's beforehand and then the guests have to guess what she said.
Peg game - at the start of the night everyone gets a few clothes pegs which they put on their clothes. During the night you have some forbidden words - eg "wedding" , "bride", "groom" - anything that will be hard to avoid saying. Throughout the night if someone says any of the forbidden words they lose a peg (first guest to notice and grab it gets it) , person with most pegs at the end of the night wins.
Games are good esp when you have people who don't know each other - great icebreakers!

I did my SIL's, we had drinks and then games. A quiz to see how much she knew about the groom and each question she got wrong someone got to pick something out of a bag of stuff I had brought (bride sash, garter, hand cuffs etc), then we had one where you put a sausage at the end of one leg of a pantyhose and tie the rest around your waist with the sausage dangling down and you have to try and get it into a cup on the floor after spinning around 5 times. We also had a competition for who could make the best looking penis out of appropriately coloured pink playdough.

at a friends everyone had carrots and we did the condom on the carrot race with only your mouth, also there was a card game with naked male playing cards and if you guessed the colour wrong you had to do the pose.

One of the best hen's nights I've ever been to was really casual. Everyone (except the bride) brought a plate and their own drinks. It was just at a friend's house.
The best bit was a game "I've never". Each person took turns saying, eg "I've never been on a motorcycle", and then everyone who had been on a motorcycle had to have a drink. This rapidly got more risque -- eg, "I've never had sex in a tent, etc" and you got to find out a lot about the other guests! It was a great icebreaker especially as a lot of the guests there didn't know everyone else.

A few of the things we've done at hen's nights are pole dancing, belly dancing and stripper dancing and they were all a great laugh!
My favourite hen's night game is dunk the diddle - the one clover has described. It's hysterical!
Another thing we did once was a bit of a team treasure hunt, as it was easter weekend so we were going with the theme. I was surprised at how enthusiastic everyone was - and competitive!
