Topic: TMI required ##shows## Posted: 21 August 2006 at 3:28pm |
Hey, Can you ladies out there that has had a baby already tell me what a show looks like. I mean as in quantity, etc. Sorry but I was just curious cos Ive been getting very light spotting on my knickers but when I wipe there is nothing. The spotting is like a light browny pinkish colour. Thanks

I didn't have my show until I was in established labour, and for me it was quite bright red. I had my mucus plug come out in a couple of seperate 'incidents' about a week or so before, and it was a reasonably clear color but thick and gel-like.

I didn't have one this time until my midwife broke my waters, but with Ella it was thick brownish blood. Not that much blood really, so hard to describe the amount! um.. like the last day of your period, enough to require a pantyliner but not worth using a pad or tampon for.
Not sure if it is the same for everyone though.
Gosh does that help at all?!

My Mucus plug was yacky gel like huge amount with brownish and redish blood mixed thru out (and mine came unpluged much later)....Mine was so gross because I had several bleeding thru out my pregnancy and so the left over was just there....now that is TMI
But like you I had small amounts of blood just before my contractions started.
Ohhh How exciting...looks like things are starting to happen for you Kelly. Good luck and keep us posted!

Mine was a massive glob of clumpy mucus like EWCM but WAY chunky and more and it was covered in blood. Continued throughout my labour.

I had increased discharge in the last month, I think that's probably what you have. The show is much thicker - sorry for the disappointment! The last two weeks are the longest

Both times my have been thick, stringy, spaghetti-like CM tinged with a bit of pink - and quite a lot of it too and it came out with a rush. Definitely could tell that it was a show!

I've also noticed I've had increased clear discharge in the last week or so...I didn't think it was anything to get excited about yet...I've also still had some brownish discharge on and off.
It's good to know that there is no mistaking the show or mucus plug coming away! I can go relax for a few more weeks.
Unfortunatley kellverona your's sounds kind of similar to what I've had. There are some times when you hate being part of the undie checkers club!!!

Spoke to my midwife yesterday and she sais it could be the start of a show. She asked if I had had intercourse or an iinternal and I answered No. She said with my lower back ache, pain and the spotting that I sound like I am getting early labor signs.
Never know hey. Waiting waiting!!
