Has anyone made their own cloth nappies?
Can you give me any advice, I'm thinking of making some.
What kind did you make? Was it hard, are you happy with them? Did it turn out much cheaper then buying them? Material seem quite expensive.
Oh, and where did you get your material from?

I have made pocket nappies twice and they were pretty easy.
Check out The Nappy Network for free patterns and GreenBeans for material.
From memory I think it might have cost me about $10 to make a pocket and hemp/microfibre combo insert, or maybe it was cheaper than that?
They aren't hard to make although I did get MIL to make my last lot but that was because I didn't have time. The first pocket I made was a ittle hard as I didn't have any of my own so wasn't 100% sure how they were made

I used the wee weka pattern. And very happy with them. 12months and still in the original size. Cost bout $15 a nappy, but I used pattern PUL which was dearer. (altho none of the sites I bought it from exist anymore!...) I decided if I was going to the effort to make them, then they were going to be funky!

Greenbeans has the end of runs for sale all the time which made it heaps cheaper. I didn't care if there were a few marks on the microfibre. (the marks washed out anyway!)
