Topic: Sharing videos Posted: 23 August 2010 at 9:45pm |
I want to send some videos of my boys to family. Way to big for email, even when zipped. Been googling a bit and seems that Flickr might be an option? Does anyone do this or what do other people do to share videos?
I am really paranoid that the videos won't be private which is why I really wanted to email them but looks like uploading them to a website might be the only solution.
Not very techno-savvy as you might guess. SO any helpful tips would be gratefully received

there's file sharing sites like rapid share. You might be able to password protect them?

Hi - DH and I have a website through shutterfly.com. You can upload unlimited photos and up to 10 videos (on the free service, you can pay to have more but I just delete the older ones every now and then and put new ones up). Only people you give the URL to can access, it doesn't come up in searches or anything. You might be able to make it more private than that, I haven't actually tried.

Oh just had a thought there's MSN live workspace or something that you can use to share files. Or if you have one note you can send the link to people with the latest version.
Google has a workspace too (I've actually studied this I should know lol)

We use youtube and set to private sometimes - then only people you specifically invite (and send the url) can view the video.
Another option, if you're a facebook user, is to upload to that and then custom set the privacy for those videos - select who you want to see them rather than who you don't.

We use YouTube and send the URL to family overseas, it works really well because you can set the vid to private and no one else can view it.
