Ok so I am one of those people that LOVES my sleep, straight out as soon as my head hits the pillow and I snore away til the morning lol!!  My body seems to need at least 9 hours sleep, 10 would be better but that doesnt always happen.  I went to the Drs recently and he told me my body doesnt need any more than 8 hours a night and I am possibly getting too much sleep, didnt think that was possible but I'd be interested to hear how much sleep others are getting?

I'm like you, need 9 hours.

I get up at 5.45 each morning and am usually in bed by 9pm watching telling and drop off about 9.30ish (was a bit later before pg).

I just function much better on 9 or 10 hours than I do 7 or 8.

I need 5 hours in a row to function, but that's the minimum. Generally 9 hours is what I need to feel great. Not looking forward to the broken sleep very soon

I found with having babies that 5 hours was the minimum I could function on and be relatively coherent and capable.
Can do 4, but not really up for more than the basics on that.
I prefer 7-8 but usually manage 6-7 (for now anyway!)

I can function on 4 hours broken sleep (I am today) but only for one night at a time. I generally need at least 6 to be fully coherent and functional and not bite everyone's head off in the process. I generally wake up after 7ish hours regardless, so I'm guessing that's my maximum.

DH needs about 9 hours a night. If he doesn't get it then he's not right until he's had some catchup naps.

I'm ok with about 6-7 hours sleep a night.

I function and feel best if I've had at least 8 hours, preferably 9. Four in a row is my absolute minimum, anything less than that I get headaches, feel sick and feel like I can't move. Funny how you can get used to a lack of sleep with a new baby in the house though, I still remember my first stretch of 5 hours sleep when Callum was about 4.5 months old

I also find that regardless of how many hours I get, I feel a lot better if I get to bed before 10pm, rather than any later.

7-8 hours is about right for me, but can work with less.  This is broken sleep tho as I always wake to pee at least twice, if not more, during the night (I'm not preggers either, this is normal for me).

I'm also a nana and fall asleep about 9.30'ish pm, but I am up at 5.15am for the gym.

i go to bed between 12-1 every night and get up at 7.30 (but wake in the middle to feed the baby) i reckon that is fine. i think its a necessity thing for me though. both kids are quite young and i have uni as well. more sleep and there wouldnt be enough hours. i also find since i really sit down and do nothing the tired doesnt have a chance to catch me til im about to go to bed. lol

My needs seem to change regulalry with being pregnant I have very disturbed sleep patterns, so much so that a solid 4 hours feels wonderful. I like to be in bed before 11pm every night preferably around 10. Its been getting lighter in the mornings and I've been waking up around 6.30am which is 1/2 hour before my alarm is set for.

I've been experiencing wakefulness around 2-4am in the morning. I can see afternoon naps are going to be necessary once baby arrives.

I can function on very little sleep, but I really need about 8 hours at least to feel normal.

I go to bed between 10 & 11.30 weeknights and am up for work at 6.
On the weekends I usally go to bed at the same time (latest would be 12.30) but get up around 7 or 8 (if DD lets me sleep that bit longer)

Before I had DD, anywhere between 1 & 3 was a weekend bedtime for me (that was without going out)

For me its just the fact that I'm a night person, even if I have a earlier than normal night I have to force myself out of bed......especially in winter when the bed is nice and cosy.

I'm at my best on 8 hours sleep but I can "manage" on less if I need to..although I get more irritable if I don't eat the same if that makes sense..I can lose sleep and eat well or sleep well and eat less but I can't function if I lose both..

before I was pg I could function on as little as 3 hours, but only for 1 day, being a shift work getting up at 330am, the first night before I couldnt get to sleep before midnight, but the next night I would be in bed by 7pm!!! used to need a min of 5 when working to make sense and not want to strangle idiot passengers....

now if i get less than 8 hours I NEED a nanna nap in the afternoon/morning/anytime!!! that means going to bed at 630pm when working the early shift...

Before having kids I needed 9 hours a night.

Right now I am functioning on 4.5 hours in three 1.5hr bursts but that because there's a new baby in the house. I wouldnt be able to sustain this long term. Looking forward to getting a 4 hour stretch all at once soon I hope!!

Ideally I function best on about 7 or 8 hours sleep.

Obviously doesn't always work out that way! I find that same as others, if it is not every night or is short term I can survive on much less - anything less than 4 hours though and I am no good to anyone!

I'm not a good day sleeper and have only had one afternoon nap since the very early days when DS arrived, so what I get the night before is it!

Before kids I needed 9 or I would feel drained the next day. I have not slept 9 hours in over 4 years since having kids. 5 hours is my norm now. I never feel good but I function pretty well and get everything done.
