Hi girls,

Really hoping someone can help me out as i am really struggling with it and just don't know what to do!

P is BF during the day and has a bottle of EBM before bed... Over the last few weeks he has been slowly taking less and less of his bottle, used to take 240mls then went down too 200, 160, 140, 50, 20 and now none he just screams, he does want it though as he will take the breast. We started Solids 2 months ago and i expected him to drop how much he was taking but not too completely refusing it! I have read some stuff that says it could be because he is teething? I would really love some feedback and ideas, i don't know if i should just flag the bottle for a while or just keep preserving...

TIA!!

Why are u giving a bottle of EBM?
Without knowing why u are doing that, I would say flag it and bf him!
DS will take a bottle of EBM fine when Im at work, but if its the feed before bed, or in the night he only wants me! He is definatly hungry but also needs the comfort of his Mummy.

Thanks GIrls,

He has a bottle before bed for a couple of reasons
- it means i get a break as he used to cluster feed for 2 hours before he went to bed, and we found that giving him the bottle stopped this.
- it also meant i was sure how much he had had to drink before bed.
- It was a nice time for DH and him as DH mostly gives him that bottle.
- Meant if i wanted a night out we wouldn't be mucking up his routine
It has worked for the last 3 months.. We decided to leave it a few days and then try again later on, so i gave him a feed before we started his bedtime routine and he has gone to sleep fine, hopefully it stays that way!
