I am putting together a cookbook as a fundraiser for Playcentre. Families have contributed recipes and we also have a celebrity chef contributing one.

To subsidise the printing costs I am going to put advertising in it. There will be 6 or so half page (so half A5) ads and then people/companies can sponsor a page - about 3 lines at the bottom.
Mu thinks they should be $25 to sponsor a page and $50 for the 1/2pg ad. A friend at PC thinks $5 to sponsor and $30 per ad

What do you think? How much would you pay?
Lindsey

I was thinking about a couple hundred but it depends on a few enquiries that I have made, we might be able to sell more but I have to wait and see.
I am just wondering what people would be prepared to pay

How much is it going to cost you to print them. you want to cover all your costs so everything is profit. Then you should be able to work out from there

as an advertiser i would want to know how many copies would be distributed, and that would help me decide how much i would be willing to spend.

$50 for a half page sounds cheap, if you consider how many people are seeing the ad, and because it's a cookbook, people will be seeing the ad for a long time to come. We still have our playcentre cook book from when I was 5, so that's a heck of a long time advertising!!

Maybe $15 to sponsor and $50 an ad.

I would also want to know the estimated distribution but I would think $50 for an add is reasonable.

Thanks for your input ladies. I am yet to decide on the print run size due to waiting to find out about a possible distribution option. It is so hard to decide on the final charge due to such a big difference between Mum's suggestion and my friend's
With a 200 print run $50/ad and $15/sponsor should cover all costs which would be great.

I think $50 is also cheap, so you shouldnt have any trouble selling the spots.

$50 ad and $15 to sponsor a page sounds more than reasonable, especially as its a fundraising thing...
