We're lucky that our house is extremely baby friendly. We did move the rubbish bin to the laundry but other than that he is free to do whatever. Which is usually annoy his brother.

Our place is pretty child proof as the kitchen and bathroom are closed off and there isn't too much for Zac to get into trouble with elsewhere. I do say No though and remove him from the situation if needed too (especially as he often uses toys and things to climb couches and tables..) but he gets annoyed at being told no!
He arches his back and throws his head back when he gets mad..

Our health nurse said at the last visit that in all her years as a health nurse she had never encountered a baby as strong as Emmett lol. He's always been very strong though.

Wow strong Emmett! They certainly aren't little and fragile anymore.
Random question, so I know the next step for Zac is to start to stand unassisted for periods of time and then learn to walk from that and over the last week or so I have been holding him standing and then just let go and he can stand absolutely fine on his own yet he wont try it himself and now when I try do to encourage him he just sits down like he doesn't want to.. does that mean he is not ready? I don't want to force him but I do want to encourage him
Ahh he is also obsessed with the vacuum cleaner. Plays with it for a fair portion of the day, He opens the cupboard and pulls it out! Wish he was old enough to vacuum! Any other baby's have fascinations with weird things

Hey. Emmett is obsessed with the vacuum too. Recently he has taken a break from walking a lot. He'll still do a few steps in a row but hasn't progressed much further. The only suggestion i have for encouraging standing is to line toys up on the couch etc so he can stand in play.

Damon is just the same with the vaccumn! Theres no harm in giving him alittle try and if it does not work out then just wait for a bit

Ha - PT HATES the vacuum cleaner and cries when it is on (maybe he takes after me)..
But he took his first three steps unassisted today - they were sideways steps but they were steps, and until recently wasn't at all interested in trying to walk with my help but only around furniture - where the sideways thing came from I think.
Off to bed for me now tired!!!

Good to know Zac isn't the only Vacuum cleaner nut! At least it keeps him entertained for a good while
Okay after posting about him not wanting to stand on his own yesterday he did it a few times where he was holding a toy with both hands while standing. He spends all day long standing anyway just using the furniture but I think he is slowly getting confident.
Yay for PT walking Aroha!! How awesome, he must just feel most comfortable walking sideways? Sure he will go forwards soon enough.

wahoo to all these new steps there growing sooo fast. And if Damon didn't like a vaccumn it would be weird since we own a cleaning business lol! But when he first had it it worried him but I just laughed and played with it with him by trying to suck him up the pipe!
Damon can stand on his own but as soon as he knows ive let go freaks out and trys to grab somthing he can walk everywhere holding onto somthing like his push along walker and the couches and things. Even with me holding one hand but he scrunches his toes when I try to get him to do it on his own

5.30am! Ahh well the Wellington trip will definitely give you a chance to sleep in
The weather is definitely cooling down.. impatiently waiting on a sleeping bag I bought for Zac. Perhaps I shouldn't have ordered it from England!

Yeah I am not looking forward to the cold but I am looking forward to the food and coffee. Hmm may have to limit coffee to the morning so I can enjoy a good night sleep!!!
PT has some sort of virus if I have to change one more nappy I will go insane!!!
But on a plus side he slept till 7.15 this morning (after being awake for 1hr at 4.30 - which I thought was 5.30 see I need more sleep).
Hope everyone is going ok
