This may sound really weird, but I saved all the little plastic disposable cups that they give your medicine to you in at hospital (your voltarin, panadol etc), and brought them home for my DD1 who is 2&1/2 - she loves them! she fills them with water & has little picnics with her teddy bears

I did this too!!! They are also great for small baking measurements!

I had a c-section so had about 20 of them!

The syringes they use for giving pamol and ibuprofen to kids make great squirty water toys too.
We kept a bunch when big DS was in hospital for a week and the kids love them!
