I know we are all trying to get our heads around Christmas but I am putting together a calendar as a pressie and have just seen that Easter Monday is on Anzac Day!! So we have 1 less public holiday next year , not that public holidays mean much as a SAHM but it still stinks!

And Waitangi Day is on a Sunday. At least on Easter Monday most things will have to close to 12pm, so that is something

You can find the 2011 school opening dates here (each school can choose when it starts though so may pay to find out from your locals)

When I was teaching, I remember thinking about 2 years ago "2011 is going to be such a crappy year" ...becuase of the messy long/short terms and lack of public holidays. Thankfully, I am a SAHM now!

Our school is doing Term1: 31 Jan- 15 Apr. Term2: 2 May- 15 July. Term3: 1 Aug- 7 Oct. Term4: 25 Oct (labour day is 24th!)- 16 Dec. So Term 1 & 2 are longer than normal, & term 4 shorter. Term 1 will be tough- normally the most tiring with all the swimming, extra sports, camps etc, then it being longer & without the Easter sanity break, =(. I suspect I'll have three very tired children by April!
