Topic: Tuttos or med and large ittis? Posted: 25 January 2011 at 2:33pm |
I have quite a few med and large ittis and am wondering whether to swap these for tuttos for the next baby, reducing the number of nappies I have. OSFA didn't work well for DD when she was small but the bum genuis OSFA were great in the med and large settings and we still use them all the time.
Any suggestions?

Surely you could just store the sizes you're not using as you already have them. You'd still have the same amount of nappies in circulation. I wouldn't go to the financial expense to swop them unless you try tuttos and prefer them.

Yea, I'd try the tuttos, but I wouldn't go to the bother of swapping unless I really liked them a lot better.
Personally, I like the d'lish nappies better - lots of people seem to think the tuttos are good too, though.

I prefer the d'lish for look & cuteness but the Tutto rocks for absorbency & a better fit on my skinny man

I started out buying tutto's but then trialed the d'lish, and now my tutto's are at the bottom of the pile- just too bulky, and was worse when she was smaller/lighter.

Yep, same here!
I've found Tuttos are great on the med and large settings, and are no bulkier than a large D'Lish. But don't have any personal experience with Tuttos on a baby, and I have heard they are quite bulky.
Unless you try a Tutto and fall in love, you might be better off investing in some small D'Lish for when bubs is small, and then of course, you'll already have plenty of med and large for bubs to grow into.

They are not bulky if you take out one of the inserts... I dont know many newborns that really need all that absorbency???? Ollie only had the smaller insert to start with and as his wees got heavier we swapped to the larger insert and now he has both in.
I am a big fan of the tutto and i am stuck as to what to do... Ollie and Jake are both in meds SIO (J is in lge AIO and Ollie is med AIO though he could wear the large). I have 3 tuttos, 4 of each AIO, 11 med SIO, 4 lge SIO (I do have pockets too but use those for night time and if I run out of nappies because of rain or swimming) and I have enough for now but when they both need larges what do I do? Get more SIO or more tuttos as no guarentees they will go up in size together and tutto could be handy as they can both wear them..
Need to decide by sunday because I want the new prints!
Hmm, If I have another baby it would be nice to have just say 12 tuttos that last right through instead of the 26 various ones I have now!

I just came to ask this same question, because same as Melnel i want to know what kind to order the limited prints in!!
Confusingly i dont actually have the baby yet either, i am just working on the assumption that we will make ittis work...
Tempted as i am to go for the tutto and its OSFA ability i think i will most likely go for the SIO or AIO's and some boosters.
So, after all the rambling, the question was which of the sizes lasts the longest? I was thinking medium cuz i'm expecting to birth a 40lb monster and smalls won't last long but by the time he is in large an AIO+booster might not be absorbant enough? Does that sound sensible? I don't know exactly whats going on since i've never used them before but i really really want some of the prints!

How many are you planning on getting? Maybe get 1/2 and 1/2 of medium and large? My girl has super chubby thighs so grew out of her new medium AIO's real quick, but still fits the second hand ones with room to spare. She also fits her new large ones. I just use the mediums around the house and the large ones for going out- as they hold more. I defintaly prefer the SIO, but not many people seem to on-sell them on trade me

I am wating to see how much they cost? I was assuming more then the regular coloured ones? But maybe i will go 1/4s - AIO/SIO/Med/Large. I was thinking of getting one of the bulk kits but probably not that smart considering i don't know if they'll even work for me.
Sorry for the threadjack!

No they are the same price, here is the itti bitti facebook page, the pre-order opens on sunday at 8pm, you need to be in quick cause they dont have many.
You can get the bulk kits in a mixture of the prints and plain colours, and you can get 1/2 & 1/2 of the AIO/SIO, and im sure if you ask really nicely they might do you a deal for a mix of med/large. They work for most babies, my friend has a girl who is tiny, and they still fit well. You can always on-sell them for close to retail on trade me (or here)

I will eventually have a bunch of Med SIO's for sale, I'm not sure I can sell them through here so will do them via trademe, each one will come with a spare insert set too. Still using them at the mo as I don't have enough in the bigger sizes.
