Topic: Manduca - patterned or plain? Posted: 02 February 2011 at 4:34pm |
It's probably a stupid question but I'm having trouble deciding what Manduca to get...
I just wondered whether anyone got a plain coloured one and wished they'd got a limited edition/patterned one or vice versa??

I got a chocolate one and haven't had any regrets about the colour. goes with everything and is very unisex so DH can use it as well.

I have two and they're both patterned - the Herbal Garden Ltd Ed from 2009 (I think) and the Maple Leaf from 2010... though I'd be just as happy with a Chocolate or Red

I got a choc coloured one. I like some of the patterned ones, but don't regret buying a plain one. I'm not sure if DH would wear a patterned one. I think buy whichever one you like the most. And will go with what colours you wear etc.

That's my dilemma - I've found the one I really really like but it's patterned and quite feminine looking so not really something DP would use...but then I've asked him how much he would actually use it anyway and he didn't think very often. But I don't know if I want to rule it out completely by getting something he won't wear...but if he's not going to use it then surely I should get the one I really want?!! Arghhhh!!
I'm going around in circles! If it wasn't such a large investment I probably wouldn't overthink it quite so much... (I'd just get 2! )

I have the Olive Grove ltd edition, so it's green and a bit flowery (but not too much!) and DH will still wear it. I LOVE it! plus there's some really nice limited editions out atm

Is that the one with blue or red accents?? I'm looking at the one with red accents and I adore it... Have found one for sale in Australia I'm thinking of getting...
I also like the Moonlight Ltd Ed which I guess is a little more unisex...no flowers at least!!

Mealz, I say get the patterned one. DH really only uses it when we go for bush walks etc. So think about when DH would use it. Will it be at malls etc, or more like walks, parks.

We have a patterned one which I love and DH happily wears.
Our pattern is quite masculine though (blue, grey and brown with circles on it)

I showed DH the brown one with red butterflys last night and he said he wouldnt worry about using it, but doesnt think I should get it cos DS is a boy!
Also saw an awsome one but its white with black patterns- stupid colour for a carrier IMO- DS will suck the straps etc too Im sure and it wont stay white long!
So Im pribably gonna go for the Moonlight one- DH likes it too. I do like 2 of the blue ones also tho, haha! Such a tough decision!

I know what you mean - DP was the same about me carrying our son in a feminine looking carrier - I'm the one who's wearing it!
I know the white one you mean - awesome! Wish they made it the reverse, mainly black with white detail...much more sensible!

Well...decision made! Thank you so much for all your input, it was really helpful!
I was going to get one from www.ycn.com.au, an Australian company, as their online prices were so good and they had the one I wanted that was sold out everywhere else. I tried to place the order and shipping came up as $95.40! I thought that was a bit steep so I contacted them by phone and, yes, it was wrong. The actual shopping cost is $45! Still very expensive! So won't be getting that one...will buy from a NZ stockist instead and get one of this years limited editions.
