   Does it exsist?? Lol.
My DS isn't very good at or interested in walking on his feet but can push trolleys and toys etc around while walking on his knees.
Is this just part of the progress to standing and walking or is it something some kids do?

He can cruise furniture on his feet fine and likes doing it but if I take him by the hands and try get him to take steps he flops to his kness and walks that way.

He just may not be ready Trudz....Jade didn't start walking until 13 months old, and Amber was 14 months old, and when they were ready they just stood up, let go and took wobbly steps.

Oh he's totally not ready, but I just wondered if maybe he'll walk around on his knees first or something. I'm not ready for him to walk at all so he can stay being a crawling bubba thank you very muchly heheh.

My niece did it for ages too. Preferred it to crawling or walking. :-) I wouldn't worry.

DS1 did it for ages, better than crawling as you could carry stuff lol. Don't worry, your DS won't be walking to school like that |

I had one of these, laughed when i saw the thread cos oh it drove me a bit batty. My DS1 did it from about 11mos till about 14 mos.
The good news about this is that he is a very safety conscious toddler. He's not afraid of things but is cautious. Hopefully you've got one of them. He seriously would never run on the road etc cos he knows it's dangerous. Such a handy trait! Hardly ever hurts himself.

DS does this too. He'll walk around furniture and sometimes walk behind his trolley, but usually he "knee walks" behind the trolley and behind the vacuum cleaner, its pretty clever really.
My son is still ages away from walking properly which suits me down to the ground, but this seems like a bit of a progression from crawling.

Lily walks on her knees, but will also stand for short periods of time without holding anything otherwise she can stand for ages holding on, does squats too sometimes lol, she also walks behind anything she can push too...

My DD did this for AGES (about 5 months), and was a very late walker (21months). She would walk normally holding our hand but would drop to her knees whenever she didn't have something to hold on to. She is also pretty cautious, and was just waiting until she felt super confident before letting go or getting up off her knees. Once she did it was brilliant, she was super steady on her feet and we've had no tumbles or wobbles. Shes just turned 2 and runs everywhere, you'd never guess she was so late getting up off her knees!
