1. Han has a bottle when she first gets up in the morning, but isnt having much breakfast. Do you give your kiddies milk or breakfast first? It wasnt a problem when she was bfing.

2. Now that she is on formula her poos have got a lot runnier (sorry..) Is that normal? Just worried she might not be reacting well with the soy. Also her tummy seems a bit fatter than normal.

3. Is bonjela mouth ulcer gel the same as the teething one? They only had the mouth ulcer one at the pharmacy and I figured they were prob the same...

4. Anyone else had trouble getting the right size bobux shoes? I went to buy some yesterday but the mediums only just fit, almost too small, but the next size up had about an inch of room left... I just thought it was weird that there was such a big difference in sizes

Thanks
Aimee

1. When Kobe got to Hannahs age I used to offer him breakfast first then top up with a bottle but if he woke really early, like to early for breakfast then i would still give him a bottle then try some solids later in the morning. worked for us.

2.if her tummy is a bit fatter she may be bloated. Does she seem in any pain at all? I wouldnt worry about the poos if its not bothering her, it can take a bit for them to get used to the formula.

3.yep as far as I know its the same thing, looks the same and ive always used the same one for ulcers and teething.

4. sorry cant help, have never looked at them.

The doctor told me she should be having about 600ml of milk a day, and sometimes she has that - prob more like 500ml. So I figured if she had breakfast first she'd drink even less? Maybe I need to shuffle around her routine a little...

Does seem weird about the bobux... maybe they put the wrong size in the packaging...? I have some larges somewhere if you want me to send them.

Also have some other Clarks' First Steps (size 4, shouldn't be too long until she is fitting those) if you want those.

Anyone else want anything?

And mmmm... don't know about the formula, but I think I switched to giving Han brekkie first around that age. Have no idea how much she was drinking tho...?

At Hannahs age I got got to give Bailey solids first with a bottle as a top up, try that

Bonjela is the same stuff, they have just chaged it to be more appealing to adults aswell (fablous stuff!)

Sorry cant help with the shoes, but I think shoes too bog are better then too small

i would have thought that bonjela teething gel and ulcer gel would be diff things, the adult stuff would be stronger i would have thought... perhaps call the chemist or the makers of the stuff for clarification.

she may be ready to have brekkie solids before milk, you can but try.

pooh will change when they go from breast to formula, but not sure how sorry.

and as to shoes toby is 14mths old and still doesnt own a pair...you can damamge their feet by putting them in the wrong size so i dont bother at all... maybe check out their website and ask them about their sizing.

Ive got some bonjela here cos i have an ulcer at the moment and on it says not to be given to babies under 4 months but the little blurb says its a pain relieving gel for the mouth. Ive always known it to be for both adult and baby

Hi aimeejoy, I weaned both my girls at about 11 months from breastmilk to cup (water mostly) so they were definitely having breakfast first. Right until then I was giving them a feed and then breakfast. I guess you could just try switching it around and see if she is happy with that, as some kids are not!

The Bonjela sounds like it would be the same, can you just call your Doctor's office and ask the Nurse?

Sorry I can't help with the other questions.

According to plunket, you don't need to offer fluid first after 8-9 months(thriving under 5 booklet). I don't see any problem with her having a drink instead of food though, if it is filling a hole, why not? Olivia isn't on that much solids yet so I'm crap with the advice on that one!

2. Now that she is on formula her poos have got a lot runnier (sorry..) Is that normal? Just worried she might not be reacting well with the soy. Also her tummy seems a bit fatter than normal.
I have Olivia on formula and she goes everyday at the same time, I can tell when she is having a growth spurt because they don't arrive or if she is constipated they get a bit more solid. Formula also sits in the gut a lot longer than breast milk because it gets digested differently so that is probably where the full tummy comes from.

Yup

Now you see I have a pair of S sized Bobux and Olivia has gigantic clodhoppers for a 4 month old and they are just too big!! I need to wait till she is probably another couple of months along before she fits into them. I think that because they are leather and might be hand stitched it is suit to fit!
Thanks

I give Zac his breakfast first which is baby rice or porridge with 120 ml formula and fruit so that takes care of getting some formula into him first thing.

Jake never wore shoes for ages. He got his first pair when he was one (flash adidas - thanks rich Japanese friends), and he had been walking for over a month by then. He found it difficult getting used to them too, so he never really wore them until it was just too cold that he had to. (i.e. we came back to NZ)

I guess we are coming into summer now anyway...

Kim, I actually did that this morning - made her cereal with a lot of her milk and fruit, then gave her the rest of the bottle. Seemed to work well

If she is walking during the hot months you would probably be better to get some sandels for her to wear out side, just because of stuff on the ground.
I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!

Bobux aren't strictly "shoes"

Aimee, I found the soy gave Maya runnier poos than usual, and they were a different color. That was one of the reasons we put her on the prescription stuff in the end. It wasn't strictly an allergy, more of an intolerance, but the specialist decided she was better off avoiding the soy altogether.
